It's been brought up before (possibly on here).
The government created the Internet to study us and see how we react to different situations?
All these forums were previously programmed. You guys arn't real, just givin' me different situations.
Same with you, etc.
So... ur' thoughts on this unlikely event?

Well they would have to build a supercomputer so powerful it's beyond cosmic thought. I can't imagine the amount of variables and scenarios a program would have to take account to even work on such a large scale.

Not neccessarily.
have you ever heard of the 'alicebot'.
AliceBotIt's pretty much an AI driven chatter bot.
Just do some advancements to it, and you'd have yourself an AI Moderator

Yeah but can it start a meaningful conversation, can it agree with somebody can it disagree can it be nice or a total dick on its own. How will it react to different cultures and ideas, can it converse with multiple users, etc, etc, etc, etc its just too much.
Alice sounds like a great program I'll check it out later. But it is still limited to its programing, it can't go beyond it if I were to communicate or respond to it in a way it was not programed to.

well, if the government used the internet to study us, they could stop terrorist attacks and conspiracies that have been un-covered

Sep 30 2005, 04:13 PM
Well, if none of you were real and this was all just a simulation by the government, why would they create a topic like this to make me question the existance of the internet?
Anyway, since this is a big conspiracy theory, i'm going to move it to the correct section.
We don't like it when things get out of order. It mucks up the program.

as much as i want to say that the government has better things to do with their time, i know they don't.
anyhow, how exactly would that work? if it's a home computer, sure, you can get a street address from an IP address and find out who lives there, but what about public computers? (i.e. the library, schools, colleges, workplaces) how would they know who was on?

Sep 30 2005, 04:26 PM
The college is a fiction set up by the government so that you would believe the internet on the computers there is real so the government could monitor your actions through the internet.

What's that supposed to me, i would come up with something like that? I never talk about consipracies, i'm one of the sane ones.

I'v always wondered if I am an alien abtuctee in sort some of alien simulation, kinda like the matrix world. And no one else is real, they are just seeing how a typical human reacts to certain situations. Because how can I know for sure any of you are real, how can any of you know I'm real?

Oct 4 2005, 02:27 AM
Unlikely unless the real world is set up also... I've talked to people over the internet, then the next day talked to them in real life about what we talked about the day before. To account for this, they'd have to be in on the whole thing too.

All I've got to say that if this IS a government creation, it certainly wasn't done by the US government. It's just not that organized.
I don't think The Matrix is the first "We are just pawns in someone else's creation" story ever.

That would come down to have you met him in person, or on the net. I might as well be a comp just saying what you want to hear or not want to hear. Do you like the color blue? NO ok into data bank, do you like roses? yes. ok into data bank. A computer can get the better of you,but it's a human mind behind it.
It the comp or programer can take your pesonal trats and use them, making you think you are taking to a human, and on the net chatting you could be talking to anybody, and you won't know who, scary. This is me because i can say funny bannana thong and a comp might not see that as "real" so chat away, but if I were to say BIO weapon, then a flag might go up. opps I might be in trouble

Well without sounding rude I guess they don't need a super computer to monitor us to see what the vast majority is getting up to with all these porn sites everywhere, as what ever you type there seems to be a hidden link to these sites. Maybe I’m just subconsciously miss typing things?

I think it's a little far fetched that the internet is just a program. But, don't think the government can't "listen in" on all your conversations. Ever hear of ECHELON? Here is a link.

well i would not be at all suprised after whats been going on around here lately!
First i get a demand from ebay asking me for money on the account I supposidly set up...then amazon sends me mail asking the same...I would nt be so alarmed but its not true...but how did they get my addy and name?
last month we had a phone call (we were out at the time)..the number stored that had called in was our home number...how could this be? Then we checked messages to our suprise a robotic sounding voice said"on way home"...the time that the call came in was 5 45 and that was the exact time that the other call had come in with our number on it but what was real spooky was that 5 45 is the time we set off from shopping to come home.
Nothing suprises me now
