An even better idea: why not draw up (in secret) a list of people here who you'd like to invite to a little private gathering somewhere (say, Alaska) ... and leave them there?

Pharoah, where in central Illinois? I have a good friend in Pekin and I've been lost in Springfield before. (Turned the wrong way on some highway somewhere and wound up going east instead of west. Silly pesky directions anyway! )

A personal invitation for you all to come to Mexico . . . . a quaint village called Parras de la Fuente. We could stay in some houses that are four centuries old, each with their own legends. We could drink tequila by the crate and maybe I'd throw in a mariachi.

It would be more fun here. There are fiestas in the plaza each Sunday night and men still serenade women under their balconies. It is not uncommon for someone to find a treasure that was left by a Spanish nobleman and you can see naked children swimming in the canals that bring fresh water down from the mountains. You can walk on any street at 3 in the morning without fear. No one locks their doors . . . . in fact, they lost the keys years ago.

The one thing you need to be cautious about is the fact that once you come to Parras, you will return.
