My husband was away overnight one time and I went to bed. I woke up and heard what sounded like him walking around in the kitchen. I thought he must have forgotten something. So I got up and started to go help him and the footsteps hurried through the kitchen into the living room about the same time I came into the kitchen. By the time I had made it center of the room I heard the front door open and close and screen door slam. Well I was pretty upset that he hadn't stopped to tell me what he was doing. So I ran into the living room, across it, and unlocked the front door threw the chain off, unlocked the screen dooor and went onto the porch . Then saw no one around. It was then that I realized everything had been locked from the inside. It freaked me out. It happen several times but only when my husband was away at night. I never felt really afraid just kind of spooked. I told a friend of mine and she told me how she would always dream her grand father was sitting on her bed and how she could feel the weight and it and when she woke up she'd have a stuffed animal in her arms that he had given her. She said it was his spirit watching over her and mine sounded the same but she was frightened by the experience and taught me something to say before I went to bed at night, she said she talked to her grandfather and said "I really appreciate that you watch over me. And I care about you too. I don't mind that you are here if that is where you want to be. But, please don't show yourself to me in any way, shape, or form. It frightens me and I know you don't mean to. I'm glad you are watching over me. I pray for you all the time and I will never forget you. It worked for her andso far it's worked for me too.

why would he run off tho?

well all I know is that all of the doors in the house were locked. i checked everything out nothing was moved or missing. It was just really weird.
