That was extremely interesting....I sincerely thank you for posting a link to it....but for me, it only serves to cloud the issue...if there WAS an accomplis, you would think(considering all of the time he facing) that Defeo would have "rolled-over" to lessen his sentence....which leads me to believe one of 3 things:

1. Defeo acted alone.......somehow.

2. If Defeo DID have an accomplis, it's either someone he is DEATHLY afraid of...or someone he cares about MORE than himself(I would be betting on option A).

3. There were forces, that at the time on the murders, that we do not understand at work(which is what I have the hardest time with).

Bingo!

I started down this path with Tracey DeFeo (Ronnie's wife) and she told me that she had started asking questions along this line and was told by Ronnie to 'drop it'.

There is a much bigger story here. I consider Tracey too good a friend to try to wheedle it out of her. She's protecting her family's interests and hopefully the story will one day come to light. It has to be on their time though.

Well I have heard a psychiatrist that worked on the case say that the kids just probably did what Ronnie told them to. The one boy that did try and get up was the boy with the broken leg so either he heard something and tried to get up, or he had a death twitch. That was one thing they never fully explained when they interviewed Ronnie recently. I don't really believe there was an accomplice, I think Ronnie just had control over the smaller children. They were either really trusting of him or really scared of him.

I don't know why the neighbors didn't hear the gunshots. Even if there was an accomplice, the neighbors should have heard something unless the acoustics of the house prevent it.

What about the prosecutor and the ME both saying during the trial that DeFeo didn't act alone?

Lets say for the sake of discussion, that bodies were found in other rooms. Maybe the children did try to run. After Ronnie shot them all he went around and placed them back in bed. Could it have happened?

Click on that link about Herman Race's (investigator) testimony and read about 1/2 way through it. He says that he thinks they were shot elsewhere (blood on the carpets) and placed in their beds.

Were all the victims shown to have been shot with the same weapon?

I know this is an old topic, but it was this case that originally began my interest in the supernatural.

I myself used to consider the story to be true until birth of the internet which allowed me to research the case more carefully. To me it was a scam. I think originally the Lutz's thought they could endure the thought of 6 people being murdered there, but add that with financial problems due to the purchase of the house is the reason I think the story manifested.

Here is the step-son of George Lutz, the former Chris Lutz now Chris Quaratino discussing the case...

Maybe some of it was "Hollywood" but that story is absolutely true. Chris was a child back then and now his mother and father are dead, so he just wants his 5 minutes of fame too. Nearly everything that happened is documented and many of us have seen it. There were murders in that home, the Lutz's fled in 28 days and did live with family and it got worse (the kids were not in the house then but with other family members) and once they moved to CA it followed and took 2 years to get rid of that entity. Being so young then, he just admitted he was scared, he saw shadows, and "flies" so he really didnt have anything to add in my opinion. Blaming the parents is wrong, they are no longer alive to defend themselves and that is just wrong, regardless of what he remembers..JN
