As suggested by another member, this thread will be for the 'raelian movement' people to answer any questions that the rest of us may have regarding their 'faith'.

I hope that they will be more forthcoming in their responses than they have elsewhere.

So who wants to throw out the first hardball?

good journey
Nadia Blue
How about yourself, JM? You never did get your questions answered to your satisfaction.
JMPD1
and I doubt I ever will.......

But anyway, I am beginning to formulate some ideas regarding this group, and I do not want to be accused of bias, so I'll jump in after a few questions have been posted and answered.

Supposedly, we will have to wait until claude returns. <does that sound like a ... 'prophecy' to anyone else? > grin2.gif

but back to the Raelians....
Nadia Blue
Now, now, let's not get started. rofl.gif We know that there are going to be about 50 million subjects discussed in this thread. Let's move on, shall we? happy.gif
JMPD1
What is the raelian movements position on Marriage?
Is there a 'raelian ceremony'?

OBSERVATION: Before a person can use their intellect to think for themselves on any given subject, they must first acquire the data needed to form a rational opinon on same.

QUESTION: What does the raelian movement teach?
Who determines what information is dispensed?
How is the information disseminated?
Other that 'rael', who are the other elders of of this group?
Yelekiah
And it is indicative that I wanted to move on by stating "back to the Raelians"
I'm going to go to sleep soon, and Claude will be here in several hours.
If you guys would like, you can begin to formulate your questions.

Q: WHAT IS A RAELIAN
101
Raeliens twist the Bible and other religious texts to suit their beliefs in extraterristials. I think raelians are silly. But others may think I am silly. Why does it seem like people twist the word of God to prove a wild point?

Isn't this what many do? Twist and turn the "Word of God" to suit their own needs/opinion/ideas?

What are teachings of these here Raelians? Can it be found in The New Teachers thread?

never mind. I seen some info about what they teach.

Raelian teachings
Irish

What I have gotten so far is the Raelian movement so far was started by a French race car driver (Claude Vorilhon) who claims to be a prophet and 1/2 brother of Jesus. He was taken aboard a UFO where he met with Jesus, Buddha, Joseph Smith and Confucius and changed his name to Rael.
Why if these men could not straighten out the human race why not try an ageing hippie race car driver with hedonistic tendencies.

In his 1976 book, “They Took Me to Their Planet”, Rael describes witnessing the "re-creation" of his own body in a vat on the planet of the Elohim.
The Raelians have two divinely-appointed aims: first, to spread the message that humanity was created from the DNA of superior extraterrestrial aliens "Elohim" and second, to "build the Embassy" to welcome the aliens back to earth in around 2035. He however might have to go ahead of the rest of us as that would put him into his late seventies and they are not having much luck with the cloning thing as such. There is a special order of elite women called Rael’s Angels within the movement. The Angels are in training with Rael to develop qualities of feminine charisma pleasing to the extraterrestrials (who revealed to Rael during the summer of 1998 that they want a bevy of beautiful women ready to welcome and entertain them when they land.
Ok, so I’ll have few questions later on in the program.

Until then. All The Best Irish.

Everyone here probably knows my take on Alien Gods and Alien Teachers....I will say it one more time - when verifiable evidence is put forth for either, then and only then will I recoginze either. yes.gif

Oh that is funny. I don't know though. What if God took me to his Heaven and did all that. I would be changed to. And try and spread the message also.

For all viewers of this thread(with your permission of course, JMPD1):

Claude Vorilhon(aka Rael) is the founder and leader of the Raelian Movement.
The other "Claude" that many of us refer to and would like for his input, is NOT Rael.
I know that "we" know that, but for the benefit of new viewers I felt it proper to make that distinction.

They are two entirely separate people.

Hi all! I see that we have started a new thread in this forum, and you expect me to give you all the answers. Good for you! I will give any reasonable answer you may require, but I will not tell you the whole message, this is what the free e-book is for. If you cared to take the time and to check out my website thorougly as well, you would find that the majority of the questions you are asking, are also posted there for all to see, and I also have an open forum included as well. As for cults, who has their head up someone elses arse now? wub.gif

Time for work chat later.

Keep in mind that Rael was chosen by the Eloha to begin with because he is French; and it was admirable that the French invented democracy. Also, given that he was no scientist, he wouldn't use confusing terminology. Since he wasn't a writer of literature, he wouldn't use superfluous adjectives here and there. They wanted to choose someone that was born after the first atomic explosion. Someone known enough. Their purpose is to really help mankind, according to the book, and Rael was the one that people could relate to in reading.

Good way to plug the book, Claude...
Yelekiah
He can't stay up 24/7 answering all the questions. If you guys have questions, a good way to answer them is by reading the book. Derr.
We're willing to assist in answering questions that are more mysterious, not the kind where you can just look in a book; it's a gross waste of time. Correct?
edit:but to continue...go on with the questions, hope I'm not stopping you.
Rainbow Rowan
And if anybody is actually looking for said book to download, here is the link:

http://www.rael.org/

I urge you to find the answers for yourself, because we are simply quoting from it to answer your questions.

I am not telling you to stop asking questions, but we are finding it tedious to answer them considering that we are giving you the source of the information.

Peace and love, and happy reading everybody

See you in the morning!

Maybe we don't want "quotes" from scripture... that's not what I'd call thinking for oneself.

I'm more interesting in your own perspectives, what beliefs you agree with, which ones you don't, etc.
Nadia Blue
I agree with Stewey. We rather like the personal touch. And I am working on reading the book, believe it or not. wink2.gif

They aren't just quotes from scripture. In fact, it goes in-depth on Rael himself, the history of the organization, etc. So it would be quite helpful to read.

edit: the point is we don't want redundant questions, as in teachers, and to prevent that is by reading. It's very likely we'll wind up getting redundant questions. It happens.

Thinking for yourself was the thread of the New Teachers which everybody ignored and asked us questions about the Raelian Movement.

This, beleive it or not, is the Raelian Movement thread, not the New Teachers.

Oh, and for everybody's information, this is not a slander channel. Please respect each other and our chosen religions.

WBS thanks for reading the source material. Have any questions about it I could try to answer for you?

Exactly!
Let me give you an example: I am a certified computer technician, and throughout the course of working on systems I have, obviously referred back to my "tech" manuals.

However, I also utilize the resorces of another forum www.experts-exchange.com of which I have been a member of for some time, to ask specific questions without all the unecessary "fluff" of a manual. Not only do I get "straight" answers, they offer me their own perspective which is enormously helpful.
Nadia Blue
Not yet. I'm working on it. I'm printing up 20 pages at a time at work. innocent.gif Rest assured, I have been reading with my pen in one hand and highlighter in the other. wink2.gif I'm not out of the game yet.
MichaelS
I've downloaded the book myself, and will be reading it too.

And I was unaware I was being disrespectful for asking your own answers, rather than ones from the book. Often a personal answer (as long as it's not clogged with useless, excess words) can be as insightful as what's in a text.

Personal experience is a better teacher than just reading. I want you're own personal experiences.
Yelekiah
Stewey, You're missing the point entirely. Of course it's obvious that you are interested in the personal lives of Raelians. But you said that Claude was plugging in the book, and I am explaining why. It aids a great deal if you can relate to what any of us are saying, if you read the book. I'm not saying that you have not, my point is that you made a statement, and I commented on it.

Thanks for being so open minded. We will endeavor to answer every question that people have to the best of our abilities. I agree with having an open mind about material, but Pallidin, if you hadn't read the original tech manual, you would be lost with the other resources, right?

No, you are not being disrespectful for asking questions, but it is not fair for us to hear rude comments or judgements either.

Nadia Blue
We're talking about the 400 page book, right? Well, you're going to have to give me a minute. tongue.gif In the meantime...

I don't know which one you're referring to but mine was closer to 188.
Either way, it still aids in not asking redundant questions. But don't let me stop you.
