Just a quick question, not to challenge others or cause debate but rather to make us think.
What if when you die, you stood alone before your creator, and you where asked the question, Why should I let you into Heaven? And its just you and God, no church group no quotes or witty remarks,no one telling you what to say, its just You and God standing face to face. Just wondering how people would answer the question. I know some may not believe in a creator or Heaven or hell, but its just a Hypothetical Question.
And i guess to add a spin to it, what if everything you thought you knew about God was wrong.

I presume that this question is geared towards those of a religious persuasion that believes one must be 'worthy' to enter heaven.
Unfortunately, my beliefs suppose no such screening.
But I'm confident that the exchange would be something like
"Welcome home, my child"
" thank you. Its good to be back"

The Creator would not have to be convinced, he has no eternal punishment for finite "sins" and loves all his children. He may ask the Christians why they wasted their lives following a god that was demonstratably evil by that religion's own holy scripture, but he will forgive their transgressions and welcome them to the afterlife as with all others.

It just a Hypothetical Question. Geared to make you think, one way to grow to is to put yourself into other peoples perspective and try to understand why they believe what they believe.
Just a thought, take it as you may.

Mako, just a quick question. Do you (deist) believe all people go Heaven, or are there rules or Guidelines that have to be met. Im very interested in learning about other beliefs, and that it justa question i have had for a while.

Yall and your reincarnation.
Is it the same as the Hindus and their reincarnation or do you come back as another human?
But my answer to the question is.
Because your grace is sufficient and I know I am cleansed by the blood of the lamb. And I love you with an undying love and admiration to be one like you.
But if God were not real Beast I would not go to a Heaven but would die knowing I loved something that gave me comfort through the rough and rocky times./

If God (provided there is truly a sentient God), asked me why he should let me into Heaven, my response would have to be:

"Because I tried to be the best person I could."

To which the great god Ahura Mazda would answer - but you did not follow my son Mithra, so you will remain in hell until the end of time and after the fiery cleansing will be allowed into heaven! Those who know the Lord Mithra will go straight to heaven.

My Lord Mithra is the Son of God (Ahura Mazda) and the savior of mankind. He died on the cross, descended into Hell where is ministered to the damned for three days and then arose from the dead. After spending time with his disciples, he ascended into Heaven to be with his father. He is the Savior God that the early Christian copied to manufacture a savior god from a poor luckless Jewish Rabbi/Rebel. Mithraism is 300 + years older than Christianity, just as Zoroasterism is 1000 years older than Judiasm. May the Lord Mithra be with you and bless you.
oh okay. I just never heard of him before.

Sherrie, i doubt you would laugh in that situtation. But anyways, the whole point for the post would have to be, well for me anyways would be that we should deeply examine ourselves and how we live our lives. To look deep, past all the worldly aspects and assumptions of who we are, We can all look and play a certain part. But if when you die you come face to face with God, the creator of everything we know, it would be a truly humbling experience. I mean, how would everything you did and know compare to God. I dont know this could be just a pointless rambling post, but just think about it , we all could be taking out last breath or our last step. Just Imagine how many people are dieing every minute in the world. And they could quite possibly be face to face with God facing the same question. And again this could be a complete waste of time, but that was just a thought that was running through my mind.

I asked the exact same question a few pages back- got lotsa responses mainly negative "oh its not going to happen" stuff which isnt really being open minded cause lets face it- theres a chance they could be wrong, and im not talking of a Christian God- but just a creator and higher power that did want worship (coming from any faith)- when they hear his voice they wont "laugh" as they say, they're bones will tremble with deep fear- but no one should fear him. We will all know the truth when we are gone.

Beastmode I did laugh my ---of in just that situation, you are correct there are those that need therapy too but I wasn't one of em.
101 I'm not gonna use the word faith becasue its not about faith for me FAith to me is hoping you are sure what you beleive is right, experience , a knowing its a quality that I have strenghtened over the years because I use this knowing or sense or intuition, when ever i have needed anything such as the ability to forgive or love or be kind or empathetic its been in me not anywhere else, I was Catholic until 7 years old school the whole bit and every day you go to church and I remeber very clearly sitting in church thinking this is not God and when the Priest would read from the bible I knew it was make beleive, the feeling was so strong i told my mother and she honored my truth (I have an awesome Mother)and of course i until recently have not fit in anywhere beleif wise when I grew up to say anything negative about religon was unheard of (I'm almost 40) the metaphysics was barely taking off, I've been called a witch I've been told i was possed by the devil yet I knew I was on the right path for me, the awareness that is beginning now I have always known, the world is growing and changing for the better , Religon will not be able to stand the test of time , truth has no opposite, I know this isn't very deep but its the best I got namaste sheri
Sometimes it isn't always God at the church. So maybe you did not feel him there. But what ever brings you to a place of well being and comfort.

I don't beleive myself to need no person place or thing external to myself, when I go within I remind myself of this.the more I have awakened to this truth in my every day life i literally become what I know myself to be, Life is a process there is a rhythum I know unity in all things, and as this sense has increased pain and suffering sadness sorrow have gone poof, to be seperate from anything is not possible least of all creation, its illusion to think you could be, but it is nessecary because it makes my experince possible. In my opinion its all so fun and delicious all of it thats the awareness I'm at and it works very well namaste sheri

I don't think he would ask why he should let me in, but here are my answers.
Because I tried to be the best person I could be, I tried to learn and open my mind to others and right any wrongs I may have caused.
And if everything I knew was wrong, well.....I guess I'd have a lot more learning to do.
