Prefect of Shouchun
I thought this was the appropriate place to put this since i am also talking about ki or force. I trained under the xingyi style. It is a style with tight movements quite different from other kungfu's. It is fairly common in mother China, not so in the U.S. While i can directly control what you would called "ki" my former master could take a man down without barely touching him (he was a former military personnel). I have been hit with once by him in the shoulder, i could not feel is palm but it felt like a empty hole in the middle. He could also jump kick far distances aided by what i belive was his inner strength, it looked like he was levitating. Although i do not belive in this telekinesis and psi energy i do know chi first-hand.

I am currently learning wushu because it was the only chinease martial art i could find in washington.

Please share.

Its pure physics. Strike a blow and stop your hand as you make contact with the target. That way more kinetic energy passes and you recieve no opposed force from blow. In visual context the attack shows almost as if it never touches the target.

Jump kicks take advantage of inertia and that is an integral part of many martial art philosophies. thumbsup.gif

There's already a large Martial Arts thread running, makes more sense to keep using that one, there's a lot of info in it and a lot of people have already posted with lots of info.

See it here http://www.unexplained-mysteries.com/forum...hl=martial+arts

Nice to see you study Xing-Yi too, not too many people do these days.
