wow.

Early this morning i was telling a co worker about a place i had been to 6 or so years ago, and i am amazed to have found and be replying to this thread (i have spent most of my day not working, and reading over it). Before my first trip to "skull tree road" as we called it then, i scoured the internet for this kind of a thread, and found only small blurbs/references, and this post by deena gitaitis
here - Original Cult House article. I wanted to add my first hand account to this thread, forboth believer and disbeliever.
i first heard of the "skull tree" from a co worker and long time friend of mine. he described to me a trip he had taken to see this thing, and what happened while he was there. he told me about the trees that grew away from the road (the legend i heard was the the devil himself had walked down the road a long time ago, and the trees have grown like that since then) and the outcropping roots of the skull tree. He told me about an unidentifiable animal, resembling a large possum with its eye bulging, that ran into the road and spun in circles, before darting off into the underbrush. And of the genuinely eerie feeling the whole road had. He had never read the article above, and i was hooked on making the trip when i saw Deena's references to "animals in the woods and on the road that we cannot identify."

So we went the following weekend. We met up with a mutual friend in West Chester who knew the way there. We packed a camera, flashlights, a couple tee ball bats, and dressed in black. Our friend led us to the road, stopped, told us which way to go, and left to make his way home. I was 23/24 at the time.
We must have driven the stretch at least 20 times before we were all ready to leave. The trees grew abnormally away from the road itself. Almost at right angles in some places. They grew this way both near and far away from encroaching power lines. We took a bunch of photos, using the high beams as lighting. I have been researching this place all day again, and found
this picture, taken by another person who visited the road in the daytime.
We found 2 spots we though were the skull tree. None were as prominent as
THIS ONE. For those that were never there, you have to understand the size of these roots. They are massive. We took a picture of one of our friends curled up inside the eyeball on the right, and he is six foot tall.

I had read about the trucks, the guardhouse, the upside down crosses, etc. I was still a disbeliever. The road felt no more "creepy" than any other podunk backwoods forested road at night. My tall friend and i decided to find the gaurdhouse. We located a gat which we though to be the right one, our friends dropped us off, to continue to drive the road, and planned on honking three times if they saw the cops, or an axe murderer. We sat in the brush for a couple minutes to let our eyes adjust, and made our way up the driveway, baseball bats in hand.
Now here is where my recollection gets a bit hazy. We saw the white gaurdhouse ahead. It looked fairly new. I heard a dog howl in the distance, which made my heart race faster. There was a volvo station wagon (i think- but i have been reading this damn thread all day, so i may be inserting that) next to the "gaurd house. No movement, no light. We got close enough to it to knock on the door, we got spooked, and darted back down the driveway. I felt like something/someone was there, maybe not in the house, but the woods.

Back in the car for a couple more trips up and down the stretch of road, when a set of headlights approached behind us. Definately truck lights. They came up fast (although we were in an 85 oldsmobile, so we werent cruising). As we crossed a small bridge, the truck slowed and started to make a 3 point turn. Now i am not the type to run away too easily, so i told my friend to slow down, make a 3 point turn, and turn around - I wanted to confront the truck. We gunned back down the road, figuring we would catch up to the truck in no time. But it was gone, and we were flyin (as fast as you can in an oldsmobile at least). We drove the road a few more times, and couldnt figure out where this truck went. There was one gate it could have gone through, but it was chained and locked. There no way the truck got to that gate, unlocked it, drove through, relocked it and drove down the path before we made our turn back down the road.

The next day i took our pictures to get develop. 26 photos, all but one was black. We only had one picture with a tree and a klan hood spray painted on it. It was a disposable camera, and "maybe" it got laid down next to a magnet, but we all found it very strange. We used our headlight to light the trees, the skull, etc. Not one decent picture.

Now I have been reading this thread all day. I find the DuPont correlation stories very interesting. Earlier in this thread user Marty Floyd states the DuPonts have nothing to do with house, or secret societies. But Fritz Springmeier, author of "The Watchtower & The Masons" has a much different story to tell.
CLICK HERE for a long and arduous article on the DuPont bloodline, which cites many references to the family being involved with both the Masons and the Illuminati.
We see other commentary stating the one of the oldest Duponts lived here up until her death. I found a post stating that she died around 96' or 97'.
But of all of my research today, I find it most interesting that the DuPonts are mentioned here, in this thread about the cult house, as well as
HERE, regarding the DuPont barn. As well as
HERE, regarding some haunted child psychiatric ward.
There are alot of extremely wealthy families in the world, why are the DuPonts attached to all of these "evil" places? and probably more if i keep looking....
