Marty I have thought all along this whole thing screamed Resident Evil knock off. Also trust me I know there are some very "different" people on this board like the ones who believe werewolves exist and then there are one who believe they're werewolves.

You would think that someone's first post, a few days ago in the middle of a specific thread and has never "returned" would most likely be someone playing a joke. I could be wrong, but I wouldn't get all excited about someone that most likely won't come back.

Ooooh the mysterios user with full name disapears! Must prove that this place is real!!! :0
Jackmurphy
Ok, i checked back on this thread and only saw one post so i waited till anyone even really looked at this. Its not a joke.. but he filmed the skill tree (just a round shaped roots) and the red trucks (they are there) and no of the trucks followed them thought...
I'll try my hardest to get the tape from my brother... cya
TurboDodge
Yeah, i have been sittin here reading all these posts, and decided to look into the duponts online and according to the sites i have found it does say that they are Illuminati. Now i myself do not know how true these articles are but it seems to be pretty convincing, but is it fact or fiction?? here is the link so you can make your own judgements. And how do you use the quote??

I am from North Wilmington in Delaware and I recall the Cult house very well.
I remember being a kid and going up there with my friends and getting scared.
The house is/was real, the trees all grow away from the house. People in trucks
did come out and chase you away. Someone told me they were midgets but I
could never actually see their faces....I thought the street was Guyen Court or
something like that.
That road was ALWAYS soooo dark.
Maybe The DuPonts hid some of the inter breeding mishaps there.
I think that whole area has been changed.
TurboDodge
I think we all heard the midget stories, but i never heard them associated with the cult house/devil's church. I myself havent been there in years, but like 15 minutes ago i was on the phone with my bro and a new revelation came about. He said that the doorknobs were also inverted crosses, they got 2 flat tires out there, i don't know how and neither does he. But he also said that noone came to chase them or anything of the sort. You would think that if there was people chasing you to keep u away, they would have been there when a car full of young people is on the side of the road with 2 flat tires. I am not doubting the chasing of people, but where were they at on this night?? maybe it was a slow night and they didnt feel like bothering anybody.

Hi again guys! I have recently discovered that MY professor, had some very interesting connections to the duPonts, she was ACTUALLY neighbours with them, ( Not in the cult house ) they used to get together for barbeques, and talk and be good neighbours etc. I did not get to ask too many questions because she said this in the middle of class, so as I asked more and more questions, my classmates began to giggle and think im a nut, so.... Maybe I will get a chance to ask around some more, IF i can, she got pregnant and her baby aint too healthy because of her's severe arthritus in the leg, so we got a replacement for her, and shes not coming back anytime soon, and its the end of the year...

I am very interested in this topic, been for a long time, and as soon as I can, ill head up there and attempt to find the house, and this time; I wont just take pics of the road, I might try to get the actual house...

But dont get your hopes up, I might not even find it... w00t.gif ph34r.gif

OMG! My Grandparents live in that very area. They can't live more then 3o mins away!
I'm going to visit them in August.....I am so going to check it out! Defitnitely in the day time though and not on my own!

The Cult House

This urban legend spot is surrounded a hot-bed of rumors that it is the meeting place of some kind of cannibalistic Satanic Cult, whose members slaughter and eat anyone who dares to trespass on the property. The sprawling estate is supposed to be actually owned by the Du Ponts, the extremely rich chemical baron family who have a rather tarnished reputation after numerous fiascoes and scandals involving certain deranged family members. Trees on the opposite side of the road from the Cult House bend away from it in a creepy, disfigured manner, possibly representing a hint of nature sensing evil. The twisting country street that the Cult House sits on, which is named Cossart Road, had for years been covered with pentagrams, "666's" and various other marks and signs of graffiti, all proclaiming that the area is evil. The extremely eerie and often-mentioned "Devil's Tree" can be found on Cossart Road, conveniently on the Cult House's property. This tree appears to be shaped like a human hand that is cupped, and also sort of like the eye of a skull. Reportedly a dead infant had been found in the crux of the tree long ago, snuggled inside the hand of the evil-looking plant life.

The actual house itself is a huge mansion which is nestled up at the top of a gigantic hill. This supposed Cult House is almost completely covered by a series of large privacy bushes and shrubs, though the keen observer can still spot large gold crosses in the windows. An odd path marked by sharp stakes exists across from the property, looking like a scary scene out of a demented children's fairy tale. There are many tales of cult members adorned in black robes, chasing anyone who wanders Cossart Road at night. There has been so many trespassers and interested individuals snooping around and driving past the infamous Cult House, that the local law authorities devised a $1000 fine to anyone who travels down the road and is not an actual resident of said street. Whether an actual Cult House or simply an odd structure, the dark, winding turns of Cossart Road at night, mixed with the open, eerie rural setting, is enough to put shivers down anyone's spine.

Du Pont Barn

This gigantic barn has sat alone and deserted on Route 202 in Delaware for nearly a century or so. Originally owned by the Du Ponts, the well-known chemical giants, this huge stone structure looms over the busy highway with a lonely air of emptiness. The barn was once part of a sprawling farm that covered most of the surrounding area, but now it sits abandoned, occupied only by the occasional teenage thrill-seeker or homeless individual. The property is rumored to be haunted, as a great deal of history has taken place in and around this barn - which is dated back to the late 1700's. Supposedly, a young mother hung herself from the second story of the barn sometime in the early 19th century. Her sad spirit roams the halls and moans for her child who was left behind. The vast, open chambers of the monstrous barn are adorned with pentagrams and pagan symbols as well. This mammoth structure is quite an eerie and ominous place indeed

Have been reading alot about this place the last view months.
Anybody from around there on this board who can shed some light on this?
More on the House of the unholy here.

Sounds like it might be a meth-cooking house (based on the mode of security they seem to have in place there), but it's probably a home-base for a satanic cult. They do still exist. Whether or not anyone would be 'possessed' is one thing, but more than likely, trespassers would be shot. It's best, for very real personal safety reason, to stay away from it altogether.

Hey, everybody.

Me and a good friend of mine are working on a website detailing frightening stories of our area (Chester County and the surrounding area). Tonight, was The Devil's Road.

We took our ghost hunting vehicle which is a rather souped up '95 Sidekick/Tracker (Same car, depending on who makes it. Mine in particular is a Tracker.)

We call this our "Ghost Hunting" vehicle because it improved engine, super bright headlights, wider set wheel base, and an installed Public Address system.

Anyway, car business aside..

We found out about this place during a 4-hour research session at the library earlier looking for our next ghost-hunt. After maybe an 18 mile drive, we get to the place and go down Cossart road. We started going down the road, marveling at all the creepy trees that grow away from where the supposed cult house is (The whole time was too dark to see the house or even a gard house)

We saw a few different sets of iron gates through our trip. But, the scariest is yet to come.

As we were driving down the road from I beleive 51, the Cult House was to our left, and a field to our right. As we were driving down it, there was a green-ish Sedan behind us a ways. Coming towards us at one point, was a very large black SUV, a Expedition or something. We got to where another road meets Cossart, and 3-pointed back the way we came, so the Cult House would be on our right now. Well, we passed the green sedan which kept going on Cossart instead of turning around, but we passed the SUV AGAIN, this time coming the opposite direction.

Now, I'm a licensed State Inspector, and while having a Full Black Tint on your windows is passable in inspection, it is illegal to have. This SUV had full black tint on all of its windows, and had all of its insignia removed, no make or model information on it. Also, its license plates had been removed. Shortly to say, after seeing the SUV twice, we got the hell out of Dodge and made haste for 51.

If anyone from this area, as far away as Downingtown or this area wants to form a group for the purpose of checking out ghost haunts and whatnot, me and a few of my good friends are more than willing, just get in touch with me some how, eitherhere or on AIM (WirSterben).
Angelflygirl22
I really have to get up there again. I live roughly 15 miles from it.
I am going in the daytime. It may take me a couple weeks to get up there but I will take my camera.

Here are a couple pics I took on my last journey through the Brandywine Valley with my 10 year old son.

Here is a picture of the Old Farmhouse. (Not far from Cult house)

Wow, that stone house could be really cool fixed up. Looks to be from the 1700's. I think it probably had a pent roof originally (small porch that has no posts, just above the first floor windows). Is this house next to Cossart, or back on some long driveway that connects to Cossart? Someone really needs to get a picture of the house/church. I found a site that talks about the buildings in this area. The section about the "card house" is interesting. Maybe it's related to this story somehow. But get ready to do somereading!

The house is not right next to the Cult house but it is nearby. I believe the roads do connect.

Currently, me and my friend are looking for a Friday trip to the Cult hOuse is anyone is interested in going up there.

As for the car and truck chasing stuff goes, it seems illegal to me. I can't imagine Pennsbury Township would condone people chasing other people in vehicles on public roads. If they do condone it, they are highly negligent and irresponsible. no.gif I drive the road occasionally, and never had anything happen to me, but if someone were tailgating me, I would just slow down to a crawl, and if their car hits you from behind, it's their fault. It's a free country, so if you want to slow down to look at something that interests you, its your choice!

If the "cult" house was a church, I wonder why I can't find any info. about it in my books about the history of the area...strange.

This is very interesting website. Someone said on October 9, 2005, that the Cult House's “presence loomed over this road much like the Marsten House did” in Salem’s Lot by Stephen King. I believe someone else said that the actual Cult House was a normal-sized house near the start of Cossart Road, whereas the Dupont estate, known now as the supposed “Cult House” was two and a half miles away. I would like to know if there are any photographs of these houses as well as the famous Skull Tree. I called the Chadds Ford Historical Society, and they never heard of Cossart Road. Has anyone written a more definitive account explaining the origins of these legends? original.gif

The house is suppossed to belong to the DuPont family, very well known and contravercial family in the US and the rest of the world.
People say they are into satanic rituals etc, that they are freemasons or Illuminatie.
Inbreeding, cloning experiments etc.
Let's just say the DuPonts aren't known as a normal family.

This article is very weird and intresting and now i think i like it

getting of topic my grandma used to work for the freemasons
whostolemytractor?
If someone at Chadds Ford Hist. Society said they had not heard of this road, I would not believe them. That is a letdown! rolleyes.gif Chris Sanderson believed in knowing REAL history, so it's a shame the Society does not. There's more to the history of this area than just the perfectly restored houses... and the society is less than two miles from our area of interest!
COME ON this is ridiculous...the way to reduce all of this curiousity is to find the truth- if this building is old, then someone must know some history about it. If I could get one person from that area to tell me the real story, I would personally help them clean some grafitti from some of the stuff down there. It'd be worth it.

I don't know if any of you know this but M. Knight Shyamalan filmed parts of the scences in the the Brandywine Valley woods (where the cult house is)for the movie THE VILLAGE.

seems strange that the local authorities didn't bother to check the property , who owns it, etc. am pretty sure that they heard stories about it... that could be a government safehouse or something

My first post here and I must say, this phenomenon excites/perplexes me to the extreme. I recently moved here from Florida and heard about Cossart Rd. from my newly acquired SO. Naturally I went down there to check it out, this was before I heard about the so called Cult House that makes the area it's hope, SUPPOSEDLY. Needless to say when I heard about the house I HAD to go back, noting nothing of the described appearance on my first trip through. I returned to the road about a month or two later with a friend of mine only to come up empty handed again. After reading through this thread while doing some more of my life devouring research on: The Cult House - Real or Not? I realized that there is a LOT more to the story than any of us thrill seekers are really seeing, such as, the fact that the local historical society makes no mention of it. Obviously bull, because the one's back home were on top of EVERYTHING. I think it's really a too coincidental that they know nothing about it and yet it's owned by the DuPonts and there's so much hype about it. Anyone willing to share personal information with me, such as an exact location, since I've yet to actually see the blasted thing myself would be greatly appreciated...I'm sure there's some way to procure my email address from the forum server. If not, just ask...This subject deeply intruges me and, though it might seem a little stupid/maniacal, I MUST know the truth about this place.

By the way...Here's a few ninjas to back up those resident evil zombies I read about a few posts back... ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif ph34r.gif

Well it seems this thread has pretty much died, suppose I'll leave this here anyway. I drove by the place once again, this day July 24th, at 9 in the morning after dropping my kid off at school. And I'm ready to call it quits. The "Skull Tree" is filled in with concrete and there are no signs of any gates/guard shacks along the road at all. I even took printed out maps from google earth and terraserver and, though I was sure I was in the right spot nothing. With the exception of the spire of a rooftop peeking over the incline on the side of the road. Only vehicles I saw on the road, since I stopped and made it look as though I was looking at an atlas with an utterly lost expression on my face, were a green truck driven by a rather young, and quite good looking lady, and a newer blue ford, the model of which I wasn't sure of...I am now pretty convinced that the house that lies over that hill is nothing more than that, a house and this bogus hype is really a waste of time and energy.

And, why does he need a huge crew to keep everyone away?

So the rumors state that this house is back in the woods almost directly behind "Satan's tree".. now i have been here almost 5 times in the last week and a half and i have yet to see a guard house or "Cult House" although i have been chased by a red pick up truck so i can say that legend is true

now if anyone can point me in the direction of this house i will be surely glad to go up to it with a video camera...video tape inside the house and post it here for all to see.... i just need some help finding the house in general... angry.gif angry.gif angry.gif

Whomever is chasing people in trucks is breaking the law. I would not think it would be legal to harass someone by using a vehicle to chase them on a public road. It does not matter what billionaire is paying them to "guard" the road. no.gif
leliel_angel_of_the_night
ive read most of these posts and i would willing go there but only if wielding a cross, some holy water, a shotgun, a sword blessed with holy water, and my own personal priest on follow.
Henzwang
the government probably knows about this as it does with everything else. i think it's probably a freemason/illuminati meeting area. the skull tree is probably fake too. the guys in red trucks chasing you probably have the license. that's just my two cents. however if you do decide to go near it, bring a gun; make SURE you have a license. if someone approaches you and makes moves to you, you have the right to defend yourself. if you're being chased by the guys in red trucks you could call the cops. about the driving on the road at night with no headlights: it's called night vision goggles. ever wonder how the military gets around at night?
SickNTwizted
Heh, you people can't see through this facade at all can you? I personally have gone down there at least 30 times since I arrived here in PA, August of last year. Nothing. The tree IS real, it's just filled with cement now. As for people chasing people with trucks, Not a single person has harassed me over there and I've even pulled over to the side of the road before. As for the police issue. Supposedly, a while back there were fines, $1000, set by the township to prevent non-township folk from driving down the road. The residents back there were getting pretty perturbed with all the sightseers wanting to see this house. So I doubt the police will do anything to help you in that instance. I honestly think, with the "security" and the neglect to quash rumors that something we aren't supposed to know about goes on back there...possibly something governmental...or a personal venture invested in by the DuPont Family.

As for the Freemasons...Should the place actually be a masonic lodge, I don't think they'd exort to chasing people down the road to get them away from it, more than likely you'd just be turned away at the door for not being a member of the oh so prestigious yet highly secretive "fraternity" that they are. My brother in law is a freemason, so I have a good bit of insight into them.

Illuminati? I don't think so. Even with the DuPonts supposed connection to this unproven secret society, I doubt they'd really fool around in an area that'd draw so much attention. More than likely any "secret society" such as the Freemasons or Illuminati would practice their secrets obscurely out in the open. A business front that hides the secret meeting chambers within. I know the masonic lodges aren't hidden throughout the woods, but merely sit on the corner of your street or mine...I've seen too many to think that they'd actually go to these lengths to hide one. And the illuminati seem a little to "high class" to be meandering around some fortress built in the middle of Beaver Valley...

Either it is A: The Cult House everyone claims it to be, though it doesn't seem to frighten any of the nearby residents. Or B: There's some roswell crap going on in there, MiB and such...But let's not forget good ol' option C: It's just a house that's owned by a guy that wants people to leave him alone.

My two cents plus a buck fifty.

This is rediculous. There's nothing sinister there just a house and a small road with a lot of graffiti. Period. It's just a road. Nothing there, nothing there, nothing there.

The Dark Knight 77
im just thinking, if you pass by the house and someone has followed you twice, i believe following someone for no reason is illegal, i mean its not like you went into the house or drive way you just passed by it, why dont you have the local police department send in some cars into the road that runs off the house and have them sit in the woods with the lights off, explain to them that someone follows you in a red truck with its lights of at night which is also against the law, you need to have your lights on at night, the cops could bring them down to the station for questioning just for that, anywayz once that person follows you have the cops stop them and look into it, i mean the local police should help you, and im pretty sure that wether its a cult house or not, they arent allowed to sacrifice humans, so the police should defintly look into this, i mean even if theres no evidence about actual sacrifices, the other evidence about them following you for several miles with lights off is enough to make the cops suspicous that something strange is going on in that area and house.
Wookie McFly
I have been down that road probably hundreds of times at all times of day and night (my Uncle lived there for 10 years and I go to the farm stand at the end of the road). I have never been followed. These stories have no proof to them whatsoever.

HOWEVER-
There is always a possibility (as I have stated before if you read the whole thread) that there are pranksters out there scaring people who drive down the road. However, unless there is documented footage of this, what are the police supposed to do? The township doesn't have much in the way of police and the DST have more important things to worry about.

Besides, all of you who drive down the road with no specific purpose but to get a scare are breaking the township ordinance. It's still a predominantly closed road, and the fines come in and out all the time. Last I heard, there was no fine, but prior to that it was $1000. So just don't go there, thus, no one could have the opportunity to chase you (even though it's most likely a BS portion of the UL) and you yourself won't get into any trouble with the 5-0.

Oh, and to the people planning a trip onto private property, you're libel to get shot as trespassers (if this guy likes his privacy so much) or at the very least will get arrested. Dumb idea.

Early this morning i was telling a co worker about a place i had been to 6 or so years ago, and i am amazed to have found and be replying to this thread (i have spent most of my day not working, and reading over it). Before my first trip to "skull tree road" as we called it then, i scoured the internet for this kind of a thread, and found only small blurbs/references, and this post by deena gitaitis here - Original Cult House article. I wanted to add my first hand account to this thread, forboth believer and disbeliever.
i first heard of the "skull tree" from a co worker and long time friend of mine. he described to me a trip he had taken to see this thing, and what happened while he was there. he told me about the trees that grew away from the road (the legend i heard was the the devil himself had walked down the road a long time ago, and the trees have grown like that since then) and the outcropping roots of the skull tree. He told me about an unidentifiable animal, resembling a large possum with its eye bulging, that ran into the road and spun in circles, before darting off into the underbrush. And of the genuinely eerie feeling the whole road had. He had never read the article above, and i was hooked on making the trip when i saw Deena's references to "animals in the woods and on the road that we cannot identify."
So we went the following weekend. We met up with a mutual friend in West Chester who knew the way there. We packed a camera, flashlights, a couple tee ball bats, and dressed in black. Our friend led us to the road, stopped, told us which way to go, and left to make his way home. I was 23/24 at the time.
We must have driven the stretch at least 20 times before we were all ready to leave. The trees grew abnormally away from the road itself. Almost at right angles in some places. They grew this way both near and far away from encroaching power lines. We took a bunch of photos, using the high beams as lighting. I have been researching this place all day again, and foundthis picture, taken by another person who visited the road in the daytime.
We found 2 spots we though were the skull tree. None were as prominent as THIS ONE. For those that were never there, you have to understand the size of these roots. They are massive. We took a picture of one of our friends curled up inside the eyeball on the right, and he is six foot tall.

I had read about the trucks, the guardhouse, the upside down crosses, etc. I was still a disbeliever. The road felt no more "creepy" than any other podunk backwoods forested road at night. My tall friend and i decided to find the gaurdhouse. We located a gat which we though to be the right one, our friends dropped us off, to continue to drive the road, and planned on honking three times if they saw the cops, or an axe murderer. We sat in the brush for a couple minutes to let our eyes adjust, and made our way up the driveway, baseball bats in hand.
Now here is where my recollection gets a bit hazy. We saw the white gaurdhouse ahead. It looked fairly new. I heard a dog howl in the distance, which made my heart race faster. There was a volvo station wagon (i think- but i have been reading this damn thread all day, so i may be inserting that) next to the "gaurd house. No movement, no light. We got close enough to it to knock on the door, we got spooked, and darted back down the driveway. I felt like something/someone was there, maybe not in the house, but the woods.
Back in the car for a couple more trips up and down the stretch of road, when a set of headlights approached behind us. Definately truck lights. They came up fast (although we were in an 85 oldsmobile, so we werent cruising). As we crossed a small bridge, the truck slowed and started to make a 3 point turn. Now i am not the type to run away too easily, so i told my friend to slow down, make a 3 point turn, and turn around - I wanted to confront the truck. We gunned back down the road, figuring we would catch up to the truck in no time. But it was gone, and we were flyin (as fast as you can in an oldsmobile at least). We drove the road a few more times, and couldnt figure out where this truck went. There was one gate it could have gone through, but it was chained and locked. There no way the truck got to that gate, unlocked it, drove through, relocked it and drove down the path before we made our turn back down the road.

The next day i took our pictures to get develop. 26 photos, all but one was black. We only had one picture with a tree and a klan hood spray painted on it. It was a disposable camera, and "maybe" it got laid down next to a magnet, but we all found it very strange. We used our headlight to light the trees, the skull, etc. Not one decent picture.

Now I have been reading this thread all day. I find the DuPont correlation stories very interesting. Earlier in this thread user Marty Floyd states the DuPonts have nothing to do with house, or secret societies. But Fritz Springmeier, author of "The Watchtower & The Masons" has a much different story to tell. CLICK HERE for a long and arduous article on the DuPont bloodline, which cites many references to the family being involved with both the Masons and the Illuminati.
We see other commentary stating the one of the oldest Duponts lived here up until her death. I found a post stating that she died around 96' or 97'.
But of all of my research today, I find it most interesting that the DuPonts are mentioned here, in this thread about the cult house, as well as HERE, regarding the DuPont barn. As well as HERE, regarding some haunted child psychiatric ward.
There are alot of extremely wealthy families in the world, why are the DuPonts attached to all of these "evil" places? and probably more if i keep looking....
