Did another search and found directions to Brandywine Perry park, Directions

I also found maps to State parks near Hockessin, DE, the park on the map is #4, and is Brandywine Creek State park.

Plus a closer map.

There is also a Brandywine Battlefield Park in Chadds Ford, PA.

Am I getting closer?

Ok folks. I have all of your answers. I live in delaware county, PA. merely miles from the brandywine valley. I have been to cult house road on many occasions, morning and night. Yes the place will scare the sh** out of ya at night. No, most of the tales are not true. Forget all the satanic and Neo-Nazi bullshit. The house which settles just off of Cossart Road in Chadds Ford. The House was indeed a DuPont house. In fact it was the first where the mand who started the company lived when he came to america and showed us how you realy make black powder. The DuPonts were indeed quite the screwed up family where inbreeding was practiced. In fact one point not mentioned here was that of the old "satanic" church on the grounds which is in fact the family's own chapel where family member were married amongst each other. The trees alnog the road and around the house did grow in a creepy, wiltering manner. However the groundskeepers have been cutting these trees down. however the skull tree remains. As for who lives in the house, it is mearly and old man who keeps to himself due to all of the unwanted publicity. And yes, there are gaurds. Hired by local residence to control the defileing of the area due to the teens who do visit the place with not so good intensions. How do I know all of this. Me and my friends had a little run in with the grounds crew themselves. On an ealry morning trip down the road one sunday we decided to take a tour of the place on foot thinking we wouldn't run into any trouble that early. We were wrong. As we made our way up a nice sized hill, past a what appeared to be a privately owned lake, we were greeted by a group of 4 men on 4 wheelers and a rather large man on foot. That's when the sh** ran down my leg. All were sporting some heavily equipted tool belts and the man on foot walking towards us with a nicely sized lead pipe. After talking our way out of a tresspassing charge we found ourselves indulged in quite the odd conversation with the man. After he relized we weren't the type who were there to vandalize the place he became rather friendly and answered a many questions we had. I don't wont to ruin any ones hopes in case they plan to visit. Trust me, the place is plain creepy enough on it's own. And though it just might be an old country side mansion now, some crazy, f***ed up sh** did go on back in the day. And when you drive down that road at night, you can tell the land around you just can't wash those memories away.

Yup, I would definitely believe that. Kids (and adults alike) can be quite destructive when seeking out thrills. We have had to hire security to patrol in our community because the teens were doing considerable amount of damage to our common areas, which in turn means more money out of our pocket to repair the damage, which means higher home owner fees.

The Jiz' explanation is 100% plausible and make sense.

Something weird is going on there.

that was a wierd but interesting story in my opinion because anything couldve happened there. theres this place like that in porterville in california where this hill behind a school and behind the hill there is this gated place with barb wire blocking the entrance and my friend went there and there was a dead animal hanging on the fence my friend was to afraid to check it out but he siad it was hella f***ing frightning. i want to go there and check it out for myself. mellow.gif

Actually I was just talking to a guy who also lives there and he said that it's not that bad as the internet stories say it is, atleast not anymore.
View years ago 2000/2001 there used to be alot of weird stuff going on there then one day it stopped.
Tere still are strange things happening overthere somethimes.
He said ne night last week he was driving past the house when he saw a group of guards escorting someone/something covered in a blanket, as not to be seen, into the house.
An other time he could hear what sounded as a cross between screams and animal noises coming out of the house.

I am not saying he's telling the truth or anything, just telling his story.

The name DuPont should be enough to keep any self respecting Conspiracy Theorist away, unless curiosity gets the better of them (which it usually does). I'm not surprised about the family inbreeding stories, and Illuminati families practice this all the time (The first ever rich rothschild on his deathbed demanded that all ancestors of the rothschild, had to maryy within the family to keep the wealth in the family.). I'm also not surprised satanic rituals and whatnot are connected to the house if its owned by the DuPonts. Although if you wanted to get in, a angry mob of 20 or so people is not the way to go. A small two man/one man infiltration team would be better. Was gonna offer myself for the role but since this has been solved i'll back away quietly. Although now that it has been confirmed a Old DuPont spends his days there...might just go myself and have a snoop around.

Hi, I suppose I'm brand spankin' new here but I was intrigued enough by this thread that I just /had/ to register. I'm actually going down to Pennsylvania tonight (I live in NY, Buffalo area) but unfortunately not that far into PA. I'd love to check this house out, even if it is just a bunch of bull that people have embellished. I'm thinking roadtrip with some friends after I turn 18 in March... all of my friends are into freaky/paranormal things, and all of us are very respectful of what we do so I see no harm. If I decide to go I guess I'll keep all of you updated! I'm always looking for places to go. I'm going to Gettysburg, PA tonight and a lot of places there are supposed to be haunted so hey you never know.

Okay, here is my story...

It has been about 8-9 years since I have gone anywhere near that house/church. I was so scared the last time I went that I have never been back. I was a teenager at the time, and my friends and I kept hearing stories about this place. We ventured out there a few times (3-4 at most). Each and every time we went, we were chased out by a van, truck, and once by an "old school" looking police car and truck!!

I will tell you about the last time I went. It was myself, and four of my other friends. We were getting close to the place and suddenly I had a police car (looked like it was from the 70's), and a van block me in (one in front, and one behind). The road back there is very narrow and makes it impossible to turn-around without making a 3-point turn. We were essentially trapped. The police car was in front and put their high beams on me so I couldn't see anything ahead, and the truck behind me did the same. We had no choice but to stop dead in our tracks. The "cop" got out of his car and asked what we were doing back there. He said that we were trespassing on private property and asked us if we saw the signs. I replied that I was very sorry and that we got lost and never saw any signs. The "cop" and guy driving the truck told us to "get out". We were all scared s***less to say the least. I know it doesn't sound like much, but imagine being a teenager out in the middle of no-where in what is considered to be an area of satan worshipers. After that experience, I never went back. In hindsight, I probably should have asked for a badge or some sort of official identification, but we just wanted to get the hell out of there.

These are the things I noticed when I was there long ago:

*To get there, I remember making a traveling soutbound on Rt. 1 and making a left at the "Wooden Wawa". You know when you're getting close because you see all kinds of graffiti and writing on the road, bridges, and trees.

*The trees definitely do bend away from the house/church

*I was always under the impression that it was a church. After reading these posts I'm not so sure anymore. We could never see due to the darkness out there. All I ever saw were the gates.

*You will most likely be chased out and it is not pleasant especially on those extremely dark back roads.

I know some people believe this while others don't. It is really something that you have to see to believe. Anyone who I've ever talked to that has been there has pretty much the same story. I am friends now with people I didn't even know back then and they've experienced the same type of things that I have.

That is by far the most interesting urban legend/story that i have ever read on a forum! How spooky does that place sound?! I'd love to do an article on it for my site....

So it's called Cossart Road....
Anybody else know something about this road?

I have been talking to alot of people about this house.
Some say that it's all bullpoop and others claim to have been there and where witness to strange things. (unknown animals lurking through the woods, strange happenings in and near the house)
So who knows what is going on, anybody gonna check it out soon?

Found a page about the cult house.
Here's what it says:

QUOTE

The Cult House

The Cult House

This urban legend spot is surrounded a hot-bed of rumors that it is the meeting place of some kind of cannibalistic Satanic Cult, whose members slaughter and eat anyone who dares to trespass on the property. The sprawling estate is supposed to be actually owned by the Du Ponts, the extremely rich chemical baron family who have a rather tarnished reputation after numerous fiascoes and scandals involving certain deranged family members. Trees on the opposite side of the road from the Cult House bend away from it in a creepy, disfigured manner, possibly representing a hint of nature sensing evil. The twisting country street that the Cult House sits on, which is named Cossart Road, had for years been covered with pentagrams, "666's" and various other marks and signs of graffiti, all proclaiming that the area is evil. The extremely eerie and often-mentioned "Devil's Tree" can be found on Cossart Road, conveniently on the Cult House's property. This tree appears to be shaped like a human hand that is cupped, and also sort of like the eye of a skull. Reportedly a dead infant had been found in the crux of the tree long ago, snuggled inside the hand of the evil-looking plant life.

The actual house itself is a huge mansion which is nestled up at the top of a gigantic hill. This supposed Cult House is almost completely covered by a series of large privacy bushes and shrubs, though the keen observer can still spot large gold crosses in the windows. An odd path marked by sharp stakes exists across from the property, looking like a scary scene out of a demented children's fairy tale. There are many tales of cult members adorned in black robes, chasing anyone who wanders Cossart Road at night. There has been so many trespassers and interested individuals snooping around and driving past the infamous Cult House, that the local law authorities devised a $1000 fine to anyone who travels down the road and is not an actual resident of said street. Whether an actual Cult House or simply an odd structure, the dark, winding turns of Cossart Road at night, mixed with the open, eerie rural setting, is enough to put shivers down anyone's spine

xxsoccerxx15
ok, i live in north east PA, but i go to West Chester U. for college, which if your from the area you know is about a 15 min ride away from cult house, i herd about this place from a few friends in the dorm, who heard it from people in their frat, anyways, they already went there a few times and got chased by the trucks and told me all the stories and showed me all the websites and i kind of didnt beleive it thinking there was an explaination or something to go with all of it but i was very interested, and ofcourse its around halloween now so its fun to be scared. so they took me down cult house road one afternoon, about 2 weeks ago, as we crossed the big cement bridge leading to the road i did feel sorta creeped out, and when we turned onto cult house road i did feel rather weird like other people have described, but i think its more because your mind is doing it to you, and its just human nature, anyways, during the day you can see all the spray paint which you can tell is mostly from teenages screwing around, you can clearly see the tree's and even bush's do bend away from the house, we stopped so i can take a few pictures of them, and then we passed the driveways by the house/church, i say driveways because there are 2, but i will get back to that later, anyways we drove up to skull tree, it def. looks like a skull without its mouth, and you can see where it was bricked in, where they found the dead baby, and the story says, i took a few pictures of the tree, and we went up the road, turned around, and drove back down very slowly to get a good view at the "gaurd" house and main house, the gaurd house you can see the side of from the road, its up a decently steep hill so its hard to see the whole thing, its an old white brick small house, than as you go further down the road you can just barely catch glimps's of the main house, but cant really tell any features of it because its far away behind pine tree's, and your also looking thru tree's by the road, as we were stopped and looking, a black truck came around the bend infront of us, slowly, not trying to run us off the road, with a relativly old man driving, who looke pretty mad we where there, but we couldnt tell if this was a gaurd, or just a regular guy driving by, but decided to get out of there, this was my first time at the cult house, but i needed to know more, so when we turned off of cult house road we stopped at the little shack there, where a man was selling pumpkins for hallowween, i went up and told im i was doing a paper on the legend of cult house and wanted to know what he herd about it, or any expeirence's with it, he didnt seem to happy to see me, and went on about how its idiot kids like me playing jokes on one another and getting in trouble for tresspassing, and then he said its just a lonely old guy who lives in one of the house's, and use's the other house to store his art peice's he collects, but i honestly didnt beleive someone would buy a house out in the middle of the woods to keep art peices in and not let anyone see them, anyways there were other customers so we left, and went back to campus, then yesterday, we decided to go there again during the day, to try to get a better look at the house, and also show a few of my friends from back at home this place, we drove down the road and i pointed everything out, and my friends seemed kinda bored, so when we got to the bottom of what we tought was the right driveway to the gaurd house/ church the gate was open, where as its always closed, so we decided to go balls to the wall and drive right up to what we tought was the gaurd house, and we did, and i quickly tought of an excuse to say if we were stopped, and remember hearing that the movie The Village was filmed back this way so my excuse was i was researching the movie, anyways we pulled right up the the gaurd house in the car, there was a dark blue Volvo sitting in the driveway, but to the right of the gaurd house we noticed another path leading into the woods in the direction of the main house/ church, as we were checking out the small white brick house surrounded by fencing, an old, VERY scary, VERY pissed off looking man came out of the house, he looked like charles manson, or atleast he could def. pass for a serial killer, and before he even came outside, just being on the property was freaking me out, but i sucked it up, and unlocked my door and got out and walked up the the fence of the "gaurd house" to talk to the guy, i went up and said hi, and explained we were looking for the feild where the movie The Village was filmed, he said he wasnt from around here and never even herd of the movie and i should be heading along now, i said well its by the same director of The Sixth Sence, and Signs, and as i was speaking i couldnt even look i was so scared most of the time i just stared off somewhere else to avoid eye contact, and he said he did hear of Signs, and The Village, and with that comment he contradicted himself to his last statement, which made me more nervous because i knew we was lieing, and then he went on to say that hes not from around here, and hes just visting here for a few days....... and i commented on the road leading back into the woods toward the "church" and he said he didnt know what was back there, and i said "do you mind if we walk up and take a quick look" and very fastly, and harshly he said "YES I DO, THIS IS ALL PRIVATE PROPERTY, AND YOU NEED TO LEAVE." with that i said ok thanks for your time and walked as fast as i could and hopped in the car and told my friends to get me the f**k outa there, i told the whole convo to my friends and they tought maybe that wasnt the right house, and the driveway further down the roa was the right spot, so we continued down the road to the other driveway, as we looked we saw the corner of a white barn, which we had seen in a picture online about this place, so we tought this must be right, so we drove up this driveway, it was very long and uphill thru a feild on both sides, and at the top we saw what looked to be an old abandoned house, with the barn we saw from the road back down behind it, we tought ok this is probably right, so as we turned at the corner of the house i noticed there was 1 light on inside, almost like a candle or night light, we turned the corner to see a brand new white Toyota Matrix sitting next to the house, and behind it down by the barn, white trucks, we got kinds scared as a black dog came running out, and we saw the white trucks so we turned around and went half way down that driveway, and stopped, and we got out of the car thinking, there is a brand new toyota there, there has to be some kind of normal people then, so me and 2 friends decided to walk back up, we got infront of the house again an couldnt make out if anyone was in the house, and the dog came and chased us, so we jogged back down the driveway but i turned my head to the right, and there it was, in the distance, what we tought before was the main house, in clear view across an open field with 4-wheeler tracks in it, a big house, with big white inverted cross's in the windows, so the house we drove up to before and the man i talked to was infact the gaurd house, and i recalled reading a story of kids being confronted by people on 4-wheelers with lead pipes in a feild near the house and i could see the tracks, so finding out i actually went up and talked to one of the guys at the gaurd house i was really freaked out, and told my friends to take me back to campus, and so that is my experience with the Cult house, and just by the way the man talked and acted, you can tell something is going on up there that they dont want you to know, i find it to hard to beleive that this guy was staying there out of town, for a few days, by himself, at this place, and i highly doubt its for an art gallery, but everyone can have their own opinion
SoLLiZ
he probably just wanted you all to leave his property because he is sick of having trespassers bother him.

Just had a chat with someone from the area.
He knows the house and knows the stories.
Onece he did drive by the house and witnessed stange things he wouldn't elaberate on.
But the words strange soundes and eerie figures between the trees came up alot.

Don't know what's up with that place, but I sure love to visit it now.

Ive heard about this place, so i decided to take a ride out today. Its not as scary as people think. i did see the devil tree. The hole is full of cement and some of the trees are bent. there are some german swasticas? painted on the tress but thats just from kidsI have yet to see the house. Me and my friend kept driving around for 3-4 hours looking for it. We found some places that may be it, but we are not sure. Does anybody know ho to get to the house excatly? is it off of orrast road or what? We didnt see any gats that looked like there could be somthing. We saw one get that was silver that had a roa so would that be it?

Well much more clearer then the road name it doesn't get me thinks.
The road where the house stands is called Cossart Road, find it and you will find the house.

[hello all. well i have been reading so much about this place i made the trip. at this point im really disapointed. i saw nothing not even a house.????? is it off the road. where exactly is it? i drove three hours and nothing. also from what ive read there is 666 spray painted all over. only saw this once!!! there is alot of graffiti but mostly peoples initials and "420" 666 was painted on one tree. also im sure i was in the right place because there was a woman walking a dog and she confirmed that i was on cassart rd. please help i wanna see this place does anyone hav directions? it must be back a lane???? right?
xxsoccerxx15
as i said in my story above you can not see the house from the road, to get to the house it is the small driveway that leads up a hill with woods around it to a small white brick house which is the gaurd house, the other driveway is really long threw a field with tree's lining the driveway, that is not the correct driveway, but if you go half way up that one and look to your left, you can get a good view of the Cult House, the reason u can see it from the road is its high up on a hill and it has privacy bush's around it, and about the grafitti, obviously its by the tons of kids just like you who travel to it, but a friend that walked up to the main house has told me up in the front yard there is 666 burned into the grass, among other things

[hello all. well i have been reading so much about this place i made the trip. at this point im really disapointed. i saw nothing not even a house.????? is it off the road. where exactly is it? i drove three hours and nothing. also from what ive read there is 666 spray painted all over. only saw this once!!! there is alot of graffiti but mostly peoples initials and "420" 666 was painted on one tree. also im sure i was in the right place because there was a woman walking a dog and she confirmed that i was on cassart rd. please help i wanna see this place does anyone hav directions? it must be back a lane???? right?

As I understand it it's on a very small private backroad on Cosart road.
It is there, trust me on this one.
If seen pictures of the house and talked to many people from the area.
It people say it lives up to it's creepy rep.

as i said in my story above you can not see the house from the road, to get to the house it is the small driveway that leads up a hill with woods around it to a small white brick house which is the gaurd house, the other driveway is really long threw a field with tree's lining the driveway, that is not the correct driveway, but if you go half way up that one and look to your left, you can get a good view of the Cult House, the reason u can see it from the road is its high up on a hill and it has privacy bush's around it, and about the grafitti, obviously its by the tons of kids just like you who travel to it, but a friend that walked up to the main house has told me up in the front yard there is 666 burned into the grass, among other things

thanks for the input and im not a kid im almost 30, we were not there to vandilize. and there are multiple driveways on the road???????

if you are at the wooden wawa (also a us post office) you turn right on s. creek road, which then turns into chadds ford rd. when you have traveled exactly 2.2 miles from the wawa there is stone buildings on the right. the road is right after on the right. it is not marked then you go???? thats how to get to the road but then what? o yea this is the brandywine valley the house is in chadds ford pa. the road is cossart rd. you can get directions on google. i did. can any one add the exact directions once you get to the road????? there are a couple different driveways/paths it could be???? i didnt drive up any of them because i wouldnt want strangers on my land either. satanist or not!!!!

i have located the house.

Its not on corrsart road. After you pass the devil tree, you should be able to make a right a lil after at a intersection. make that right and stay straight. the road will turn left but You will see a house with a hudge iron gate and a newly paved driveway. i believe the house next to it is the guard house. I saw a green truck there. Its not white brick, but it is white. Thats the gate you have to go through, but it was closed so i was unable to go in. But is that the wrong driveway? My friend has been there and said that was the drive way. But everything looks the same out there. Is it off of corsart road, becuae i saw a small silver gate, also a small driveway that wasnt paved on the right. Im just gona rent a helicopter and land on the dam field, i find it.
