Adam Gilchrist has sparked Australia to an unbeatable 2-0 lead over the World XI in the one-day international series. Gilchrist's took just 79 balls to reach the 100 mark - the fastest century in Australian cricketing history.
After taking the first game by 93 runs, Australia embarassed the best of the rest of the world by cruising to a 55-run victory. The game went part of the way to erasing Australia's memories of the shock 2-1 Ashes defeat to England.
For Australia though, the task is not complete. Looming on the horizon is the one-off test match with the World XI. Australia will be out to prove that their showing in England was an abberation, not a sign of things to come, and that they are still the best cricketing nation in the world in both forms of the sport.
Only time will tell.

Indeed, its been great watching the Aussies demolish the World XI in the last two matches. We really needed to lose against Engalnd so that the players could get a kick up the a*** and remember that there are some damn good cricketers out there who want nothing more than to defeat us.
Hopefully we can make the series a clean sweep and charge into the 6-day test full of renewed confidence!
Now I wonder if Blackleaf`s still around to tell us how this doesn`t mean anything and that England are far superior!lol!

Well Australia has wrapped up the series with a 150 run win over the World XI finishing the series 3 wins to nil. It is a clear indication that thw Aussie team is after the upcoming world cup and is ready to make up for the ashes loss.
Just on a side note a depleted socceroo`s(Australians) side defeated Jamacia 5-0 over in london. What a great night for aussie sporting fans! lol!
