MY guy and me were out with mates last night and did not get in until 10.35pm only for me to find my brother had phoned 3 hours before...he sounded a bit panicked and asked me to phone as soonn as I got in as it was a family emergency.

I found out that my 16yr old sister has gone missing...she had been chatting to a few guys in chat roms and they think she has gone to meet up with one of them...my family have tried to phone her mobile and also the guy they think she has gone to meet...both phones are turned off...the police are involved and Im just waiting to hear something back(I live about 7 hours away from where my family live)

I am going out of my mind with worry...I feel so helpless...didn't sleep last night either.

Well if they have the guys mobile number then they have his name and address presumably. If he knows he can be tracked I think it's unlikely any harm will come to her.

Even so I can't begin to comprehend how worried you must be, try to remain calm. Can they trace the chat room conversation to find out where she went?

I agree with Barman..... and I also can't imagie the feelings you and your family are going through right now.... I hope eveything works out well, and soon.

The police are looking into one of the guys...the others she spoke to on the net,noone knows anything about them apart from they are older than 25yrs old.

The police are looking into everything they can at the mo...I would think they are looking into the chat room records as well.

I am so worried about her though as it scares me the way I don't think she would have the sense to not go running into a load of trouble...also,you never know who someone truly know who someone really is just by chatting to them on the net.

Has the police thought of contacting the mobile company, perhaps the mobiles are equipped with GPS? Just a thought, because my Aunt's phone is equipped with GPS.

OMG I am so sorry to hear this..I'll pray for your sister and i hope eveything well be ok soon.. We had the same thing happen last month to a girl my kids go to school with.. But thank God they found her alive and ok.. She was taken out of state but they didn't hurt her.. I'll pray they find your sister too..I know your family must be sick with worry....

Sorry Im only just getting back to you all...I was sick with worry yesturday afternoon and most of today...I tried phoning my Mum loads and her phone was switched off...but I had a phonecall from my brother this afternoon to say the police had found her alive just before lunch time...I don't know much details(as my Mum was in a rush to go pick her up)...but at least I know that she is alive.

Please...if anyone is thinking of going missing...leave a note or get a message to your loved ones to let them know you are fine...it saves them worrying loads...and please do me a favour...never go off to meet with anyone off the internet...unless there is a group of you...and never believe half of what someone who is chatting you up on the net tells you...at the end of the day how do you really know they are who they say they are.
