I have been off the net for a while, and my brother has now added extra firewalls to my computer. But I found out a guy in America is pinging my computer as soon as it turned on, and then inserting a Trojan Horse and closing down my computer, then using my internet provider. I got in contact with my internet provider and exsplained this too them, and they said they can't do anything about it. I now have 3 firewalls running, and with this program it shows his computer is constantly pinging mine, trying to get in! And when he does, Bingo! Down goes my computer and I have to do a complete program rebuild.

Any suggestions? mad.gif

I just realized how funny the tittle sounds, lol. Just downloaded a program to do just that, thanks for the advice!

your ISP won't be able to do anything really.
The only way to deal with hackers is hack back.

If it is happening as soon as you turn your pc on, it may actually be a trojan installed on your system, be executed at startup. Have you tried formatting/reinstallation? I think I recall a virus that did something like that.

Hey Kryso, have you updated your virus definitions and run a virus scan as well? What virus/firewall software do you use? Sounds like a trojan to me too.

--->perhaps run the virus scan in safe mode
The Roswell Man
As some people are suggesting, run a virus scan from a good virus scanner(AVG antivirus etc...) or what you got, Get all the latest update for this and zap the trojan when it appears..... Also run anti spyware software as the trojan probs came from an unscrupolous website (popup prehaps) or runs from an executable .exe file or something....

Perhaps you could do us a favour and tell us which ISP you use so the rest of us can avoid using them?

u should get norton antivirus and i suggest that you use a proxy connection or an ip blinder
Pharoah
Use a proxy. adress.

If I remember correctly.

Otherwise, go to Google/Yahoo and search 'free public proxies'.

It definitely sounds as if you have a back door trojan already residing somewhere on your computer, which is enabling the hacker's entry whenever you go online. There is a great program called Trojan Hunter, which can often find trojans that even good anti-virus programs can't. It is even available in a fully working free trial version, that allows you a one time only definitions update (until you actually purchase it). I'd suggest downloading Trojan Hunter, updating it, and then running a full system scan.

Another thing to keep in mind is that trojans often hide in your System Restore Points, so even if Trojan Hunter finds and removes it, it could be reinstalled from your Restore Points.
That is why it is very, very important to disable System Restore (which will automatically delete all your old Restore Points), immediately after you clean out that trojan. Afterward you can enable System Restore again. If you don't know how to disable System Restore let me know and I'll explain.

First off... AVOID Norton, it is not a good program to use, it really isn't.

With your computer so badly infected the only effective methos I can see for you now is this: a complete reformat of Windows, a clean install. I heartily reccommend it.

When you have re-installed, make sure the first thing you do is install the free version of ZoneAlarm http://www.zonelabs.com/store/content/cata...d=dbtopnav_zass and then install Service Pack 1 and 2 and ALL windows security updates from here http://update.microsoft.com

Next, get a subscription to the best Anti-Virus program bar none, NOD32 http://www.nod32uk.com/home/home.htm there really is no substitute. And unlike Norton, it doesn't take up half of your system resources. Run it weekly, it is very fast and it's detection is the best on the market.

After this, download and install the latest version of SpywareBlaster here http://www.javacoolsoftware.com/spywareblaster.html andwhen you have installed it make sure the first thing you do is update it, then "enable full protection" by clicking on the option in the pogram. Update it weekly.

Also download and install Adaware SE here http://www.download.com/3000-2144-10045910...page&tag=button and update it once you have installed. Run it weekly.

That is the only real and 100% effective solution I can see to your problem here, and also the least technical... it is far easier than delving into the registry or messing around with system restore and safe mode.

It's your best option, and if you do the steps i've described you will be alright.

If you don't decide to take my advice however, please at least buy a subscription to NOD32 and make sure you only have ONE firewall (Zonealarm) on your computer, as multiple firewalls can conflict and cause problems.

Oh and last thing, please use normal font colours and sizes for your posts, the large orange one is a real pain to read and that's not a good thing when asking for help, best make your posts quick and easy to read. original.gif

Thanks everyone, this has come in really handy. And it turned out to be a back door Trojan dropped in as soon as the computer turned on! I now have McAfee Security, and Trojan Hunter running, along with Outpost firewall, and Proxy IP Hider.

And my rubbish service provider that said they wouldn't and couldn't help is Plusnet, based in Sheffield. Don't use them. The Program that detects people trying to get into my computer show they all originate from Plusnet. I copied this and sent it to them and they said more-or-less... "And what do you expect us to do?"

Thanks again everyone! thumbsup.gif
