Please excuse me if this topic is posted in the wrong place.
My question: I've seen the film at least 20 times. I have not read the book. Is "Indrid Cold" in the book? Also, and this is a bit of a stretch, I could swear that I hear Gordon (the character in the film) say that he saw "Indread Cold" and not "Indrid Cold." Do you see the difference? Do you understand my question? There's an immense amount of literary and cultural potential (as in layers of meaning) between the entity being called Indrid or Indread. I've posted this same query on www.imdb.com without getting a concrete answer. Most of the responses point to the legend ("the locals have always called it Indrid Cold"--which doesn't address my question) and not the book. If someone out there (in here) can clue me in on Indrid/Indread, I'd appreciate it a lot.
