I purchased a ouija board a while ago and on the back it has symbols and it says "Isaac's Legend." Being curious I tried to find ANYTHING about it and I came up with absolutely nothing. I don't know if it this Isaac's Legend is made up for dramatics or if it has any signifcance to it. I was just wondering if anyone knew anything about it I would appreciate greatly. Thanks. A picture of the board is here: http://mysticcauldron.com/images/divination_tools/legend.jpg

Oh, there's significance, all right. They're recognized symbols that are still being used today, though the symbol for "Air" is actually the Astroloigcal Symbol for Sol, or our sun.

EDIT 1: Actually, now that I think of it, it's both for Air AND the sun.

As for other ones:

Travel is correct.
Goddess is correct.
Fate is correct.
War is correct.

God and Death are correct. (Not very sure about Death.) Fire and Love appear to be wrong, though I might be wrong on Love.

Everything except Possession and Water are correct, but then again, I'm not sure on those two.

The underworld one appears to be completely made up! I've never seen it before in my life. happy.gif

Victory appears to be correct.

Oh, and for Isaac's legend, I think this was actually one of the first ouija board designs. And the zodiac-esque symbols were taken off of the other designs after this design due to the symbols giving the spirits some sort of power that _could_ be used maliciously.

Use it with caution. Use them together. Use them in... good... faith? Will? Uh, how'd that Spock quote go? grin2.gif

Thanks for the information on the symbols. I just like to know what everything means on the board and if the symbols are telling an actual legend or if it is just a key to the symbols on the front of the board. So ambiguous!
