I definately think that just Champ exists, Nessie's probably was created to attract tourists or something. Who knows? blink.gif

Its such a huge world, and so much has still yet to be explored and explained, so i dont see why all three cant exist... wink2.gif

I don't think you can say that the Loch Ness Monster was 'created' solely for the purpose of tourism. There are reports of the creature stretching back to the days of St. Columba, so it's by no means an exclusively modern myth.

I seriously doubt either Champ or Nessie exist, at least not as 'monsters' in the sense of unknown or prehistoric creatures. As for Mokele-Mbembe, I've never read much on that particular subject, so I can't really say one way or the other. The idea that a large dinosaur could still be roaming around doesn't sound too likely, I have to say.

Hi everybody.

Even though I think it would be great if Nessie or Mokele Mbembe turned out to be real, I feel that sea monsters are more likely to exist than lake monsters.

My favorite sea-cryptid is Cadborosaurus, or "Caddy." I'm sure most of you have heard of this sea-serpent before.

Hi Exeter ! laugh.gif

I don't think any of them are real to be honest. disgust.gif

Of course, that is just me, and I could be wrong.

Champ. If people saw my "my theory on nessie" topic then they will know why. cool.gif

I think that the Mkole Mmbembe is possible, as the Congo is huge and there could be many species that are undiscovered.

I said Mkole Mmbembe, but I think it's strang that a sauropod would be in a swamp; they used to live in forests. dontgetit.gif

I've gotta vote for the Mokele-M'bembe too. It's been well documented that the Congolese jungles are some of the most dense and pristine on the planet, and some scientists have speculated that the region was the least changed on Earth during the ice ages.

Now wether or not its a "dinosaur" is another issue altogether, but if there's one place left on our ever-shrinking, blue orb that could support a relatively small, saurian beast, my guess would be West-Africa. thumbsup.gif

went for mokole-mbembe.there is a high possibility it's still there as there's still much traversing to do in the forests and jungles of Congo and the most of Africa.no surprise to see one or two species from the dino-age still living there.....
Paulo
I think all 3 do exist in one time or another...

In fact, in Thailand, there's another Lake Monster called "Naga" who is like Nessie...elusive and quite frightening...
Benjo Koolzooie
The same Nessie that is now supposedly an infertile Eel? thumbsup.gif
Croation
icon_mrgreen.gif I can never be positive about any of those lake monsters because there is so much we don't know about the ocean and there ARE still animals out there that we haven't discovered. So I think there is always the possibility of any kind ok "Lake Monster".

In the original story about nessie and St. Columba, it said there was a "disturbance" in the water. It didn't describe a creature of any sort. The disturbance could have been an otter. wink2.gif

Yes, I agree that sea serpents are far more likely to exist than lake monsters. I personally do not believe that there is a Loch Ness Monster (unless you take into account the possibility of time slips), but the world's oceans are just so vast that anything could be living in the depths.

well Athlon i would like to add a little something too.are you aware of the Inner Earth theory?i read that maybe there are underground caverns connecting from the Outer Earth to the Inner and forgotten creatures like Nessie and some other dinosaurs are actually dwelling in some yet undisturbed parts of the Inner Earth.i'll just place the link here for everyone to check it out.it maybe it's a less-than-convincing proof to this Nessie thing but it's still an intriguing theory.

The recent scandal about the original Nessie picture has made me loose my faith in her, but I do believe there is plenty of evidence that Champ may exist.
