I wanted to watch this as I thought it looked interesting. Unfortunately, I spend more time on the computer than watching TV, lol. I always miss the stuff I wanted to see. disgust.gif

The show is awesome and if you watch carefully on the first episode the original actor Mcgavin who played Kolchak makes a cameo which I think is pasted onto there. Its cool. But I didn't know Kolchak's wife had died in the old one unless they added that as a base for a story on the new ones....?

Just a few passing thoughts...

Pathetic, unoriginal, and vaccuous. Patched together from stolen bits of The X-Files and various films.

And do not compare this Night Stalker to the original or to The X-Files. The original Night Stalker and The X-Files oozed substance and character--genuine pomo noir; this Night Stalker is epitome of Hollywood: superficial, spectacle, and severely lacking intellect.
Originality, cohesion, complexity, and intensity of effect; that's the criteria, the original Night Stalker and The X-Files defined the such.
This Night Stalker simply fails. Any Joe/Jane Knucklehead director would certainly use shadow and lighting and long take to enhance pomo noir narrative structure, but in this Night Stalker we get quick cuts, lots of glass, no ambiguity, uber-contrived narratives, and horribly miscasted characters... Disney Noir for the Me Generation.

Don't really like it, but I can't wait for Triangle on the sci fi channel on Dec 5th (I think)

I haven't had the chance to watch the new show. I thought the older version was a bit dull.
