Here's somebodys chance to quit their job and start a path to riches. Is Bates College name after Norman (had to ask because Halloween is coming).
LEWISTON, Maine (AP) - A Maine scientist says he'll soon release the details of a one million-dollar reward for a photograph leading to the live capture of Bigfoot, the abominable snowman or the Loch Ness Monster.
Loren Coleman, a professor at the University of Southern Maine, says the bounty would be paid by an as yet unnamed company.
Coleman says they don't want people running around with guns trying to kill the legendary creatures. That's why the reward will be for a photo instead of an actual sasquatch.
He says specifics of the Bigfoot reward will come
at a conference over Halloween weekend at Bates College in Maine.

This will simply impede the capturing of a real crypto creature, because a load of rednecks will be wandering around with shotguns blasting anything that moves!

First, No, Bates Collage isnt named after Norman.
Im from Maine and I happen to live just about 30 miles from Lewiston. Maybe I can talk my hubby into going to the collage for a few hours, and check it out for myself. I wouldnt mind meeting Mr Coleman in person.

Funny coincidence, Lewiston is also the name of the village right next to Drumnadrochit, from where there's a fine view over Urquhart Castle and the Loch. I happened to have spent a night there once, looked over the lake and saw nothing but water...
Sadly enough, I don't think a prizewinning picture of Nessie will see the light of day anytime soon, don't know why, just a hunch.

oh just a load of "rednecks" eh? sounds a little discrimating to me. I am a redneck and we just don't go out and start blasting anything that moves. When you hunt for game animals...it's its a hunt of anticipation...i never seen anybody just going arund shooting anything they see move...that dumb and not even logical to the people like myself who hunt. You can't just see a deer jump out of the bushes and blast him...NO WAY PAL. You must make sure it is a buck (a deer with horns) and that it's big enough for some eatin'. THere is more to hunting then you know my friend. It's the game of anticipation...animals just dont come running out of the wild for us to shoot them....You must first have an eye for where the animals are ....and also have the patiencts. So please before just blabbing about something you apparently don't know about...do some research thank you.

true, and i bet if this is real there will be a few orangutangs found missing out of the local zoo.. LOL no j/k but if there were to happen that'd be pretty F'ed up. lol..I think there is a gimmick...like lets say i find bigfoot in my backyard and it turn out to be just an ordinary prime ape you would find in a congo....they would probably not give me the million. Because it's nothing they havn't seen before.

That's true, they probably won't settle for anything short of a picture of Bigfoot standing infront of his house, with directions on how to get there, and an interview in which he explains exactly what he is, why he has been hiding, and why he chose now to come out to the public.

I consider myself a "woodjin" (backwoodsman) and a "piney" but I would never consider myself a "redneck". Aren't they the wannabes who live in the suburbs? and the little bucks are the more tender ones and it is better on the gene pool of the deer to take them instead.

Ugh, I don't know where you got that information, but I think you are mistaken about rednecks. I take facts and then i present information once i have the facts, and I know a redneck is actually a white member of a Southern rural laboring class. Which rural is the opposite of suburb. So you my friend might be a person who has behaviors or opinions of a real redneck.
