So, it's time to confess: Which movies have made you bawl your eyes out? Is there a movie that even when you think about it, it makes you a little sad?

A couple of mine include:

Requiem for a Dream -- the ending of this movie is one of the most powerful I've ever seen. It took me a while to recover from this one. tongue.gif

A.I. - Artificial Intelligence -- The boy in this one is absolutely fantastic, I felt so sorry for him throughout the whole movie. He just wanted to be loved! crying.gif
JennRose
Forever it shall be Bambi at the top of the list. crying.gif And I cried at the end of Return of the King. blush.gif

Some others that were very sadly powerful, but not necessarily 'tear-jerkers':

Saving Private Ryan
Dances with Wolves
Legends of the Fall
the Deer Hunter
Mr Ed
Erm. When I was small. Like 8 or something. I saw this film about a dead guy, I think, who got turned into a dog.

I don't know if any of you remember the name.
JennRose
The Shaggy Dog? He wasn't dead, but he turned into a dog: a big, fluffy sheep dog.
Mr Ed
Ah not that one. It was a small short haired dog. With red ish hair or something. I think the title of the film was a name.
Magikman
It was called 'Fluke', based on a novel by James Herbert, the movie was okay but the novel was quite a bit sadder and far more interesting. thumbsup.gif

Brian's Song was also a very sad movie. crying.gif
~TheBigK~
I cried at the end of Return of the King also. A few others are Gladiator, Saving Private Ryan, Ladder 49 basically any war movie although I can cry at anything really, I'm a sap.
rose_ashes
a walk to remember, moulin rouge, and armageddon get me every time.
Pink Fairy
I have to say it was Dances with Wolves and The Last of the Moghicans. I love those movies. Every time i see them i cry.
Troll Account
My Girl was a sad movie, it made me cry
343 Guilty Spark
These made me come onto the verge of tears.....

A.I when at the end he gets to live the last few minutes with his mother, even though we know its not true. And how he belives the Blue Fairy is real and he tries to find her. sad.gif

The Green Mile all the way through the film but especially at the end. crying.gif
Feenix Fire
"I am Sam" with Dakota Fanning made me cry.

Requiem for a Dream was darn good too.
Flame Thrower
I Am Sam

Return of the King

And for some reason, thinking about Donnie Darko sometimes makes me a tad unhappy. Just the way its told, the kid in it seems so bleak at times, like he's got utterly no hope. But eh, thats my opinion.

Peace

The Land Before Time-I cried for a week. Poor dinosaur...
Nadal
I used to watch this movie over and over "Hope Floats"...cried everytime the scene when the Grandmother died. Slingblade's a good one, too! I suggest Slingblade...I loved that movie.
fawkes2
'schindler's list' was a tear jerker for me cause it was based on a true story , also 'l am sam' made me cry too . crying.gif

From what I saw in theaters, The Passion of the Christ was quite effective at making the ladies cry. I even remember that after the movies people had to say their wives "it's just a movie" as they were crying as if there was no tomorrow. I didn't cry, but certainly left me shocked yes.gif

that movie really didn't bother me. guess i'm strange?
i found it to be rather boring. i mean, it was gruesome and sad and all, but the plot and stuff isn't exactly original and exciting tongue.gif
The Skeptic Eric Raven
My Life starring Michael Keaton. Before I say this, I want to state I am not a crybaby.lol I had to actually leave the theater because I was so upset.

l watched that movie too , l didn't cry but l was moved by it , my mom and sis cried over it probably because they both have kids and they imagined how mary would have felt watching her child being tortured liked that.
jpalz
I watched it with my sis, and man she cried the whole movie. By the time Peter denied Jesus three times she was crying and using my sweater as paper tissue tongue.gif

Steel Magnolias

Titanic

Armageddon

Several more.. (yes I am a sap) ... but I can't think of any right now...

~ Passion of the Christ.
Paranoid Android
Braveheart always does it for me, as does Green Mile.

When i was younger, a movie called Powder made me cry, but I haven't seen that in years and it's probably not as cryable as I remember.

And I know it's not a movie, but the episode of Star Trek: DS9 - the Visitor, in which Sisko is ripped through time and Jake lives almost his whole life without his father: I cry during this too.
Ancient World Wonders
Once and never again will I see "The Dog Who Stopped The War". For those who have seen it, you know why. The dogs dies. I don't like movies where animals die when in a family movie. Another one is Old Yeller. If the animal is in a Stephen King movie, that's a different story. When an animal is in a difficult situation in a movie and looks to be about to die and then survives, those are the best movies of all!
codenamecloud
ok i will probably regret saying this but A Walk to Remember, What Dreams May Come, and Armaggeddon all got to me pretty good
amybutts
OH..... I loved What Dreams May Come. Another good one was Finding Neverland, that was pretty sad.
codenamecloud
i never got the chance to see Finding Neverland. do you recommend it
shanahan2300
Dances with wolves

Sophies choice

The Notebook

Passion of the Christ

My life

What Dreams May Come

I am Sam.......I have a 10 yr old granddau. that looks so much like Dakota Fanning that in public people are constantly coming up to us to comment, and Cierra's personality is just as Dakota portrayed Lucy. I felt as if my heart was being ripped out while watching it.

Yep,

It was a really, really good. My daughter watched it with me and thought it was a little slow, but I really liked it. You will definitely need a box of tissues at the end!
a_blue_fish
The Eye. It's the only movie I have ever cried at every time I see it. I know there's more but I cannot remember it for the life of me... WAIT. I GOT IT. Audition. Maybe a bit teary at Ringu 0. Horror movies really do it for me XD
SerenitysRiver
I saw a trailer for Audition, and I'm too creeped to see it at the moment. Heh.

Anyway, movies that make me cry....

Gladiator got my eyes watery.
AI always makes me and my mother bawl at the end.
Finding Neverland had be tearing up...

I really don't tend to cry at much. Well, except last night when my friend played a song on her guitar that she and my best friend wrote about us all moving apart after we graduate this year. I was crying pretty genuinely then.

I do have one tv episode that always makes me cry, though. Buffy the Vampire Slayer. Season 5, episode "The Body". It's just so emotional, and really captures the different reactions and feelings people go through when coping with the death of a loved one.

The scene at the end of Just Married where Ashton Kutcher is talking to the family on the gate camera is a tear-jerker.

"You don't want me to be with Sarah and I can't change that. I don't know where we're gonna be in 10, 20, 40 years. I don't know who we're gonna be. I don't know if I'm ever gonna be able to give her all of this. There are a million things that I don't know. But there's one thing that I do. And that's that I love Sarah. And I am going to love her day in and day out for the rest of my life. Now, will you please... please... open the gate so I can tell that to my wife."

I loved that episode of Buffy. Your right, very sad. It is such a shame the main character did not want to continue with the show.
Fluffybunny
The Green Mile absolutely slayed me...

Braveheart...

There are several, but I think that the Green Mile probably was the saddest...for me anyway.
panther10758
The Butterfly Effect (Directors cut)
Shakezulah
The only movie I've ever really cried during was I Am Sam. That was just such a sad movie. Also, I found certain parts of Unleashed with Jet Li to be pretty sad. Kinda of strange for an action movie, but it didn't have an ordinary action movie plot.
Radioactive Man
Conan the Barbarian

During Biology class in 9th grade we saw a movie called Lorenzo's Oil. I wanted to cry but was afraid of being called a sissy.

I also want to add Dumbo to the list -- specifically, that part where he's being craddled by his mom who's caged. crying.gif

Oh, God that was too much. It was even worse because she was caged only trying to protect him. I will get teary thinking about it... sad.gif

Most of the old Disney Classics do that to me, anyway. The ending of The Fox and the Hound where their childhood voices repeat that they will always be friends. crying.gif Ah!! That just makes me bawl...

Awww, the worst part of that movie for me is when the Fox's owner leaves him in the woods, and she's driving away and he's just sitting there all alone and confused as to why he's being abandoned. crying.gif

Curse those Disney movies.
