Possibly the oldest, and largest Spider ever to crawl on the EARTH. I read elsewhere besides this website that they could actually still exist somewhere in our Western Hemisphere and more odds in South America somewhere.

But here is a link for you SPIDER lovers...

I hope I don't run into one. There used to be roaches the length of pencils back in the day. Hopefully they, like spiders, will get smaller as time progresses.

i just think to one thing w00t.gif like said the topic largest spider in the world maybe there most larger spider no this era, i think if you go back throught time in era dinosaur. There giant centipede, big spider, and dinosaur, now we have no dinosaur except some big spider "28 cm" and little centipede blush.gif.

Maybe if the earth have high radiation, cause without of the ozone layers , this like a big nuclear-central alien.gif.

this is why we have big insect and other monster w00t.gif

I think that Megarachne was recently found to be not a spider, but an ancient relative the sea-scorpion. i'll see if i can find a link

At the moment the largest known spider is Theraphosa Blondi. The record holder was a 28 cm leg span male found in Venezeula. Although Theraphosa Apophysis males have been reported to reach 13 inch legspans, they are not nearly as bulky.
As for centipedes, Scolopendra Gigantea has been known to reach lengths of 14", and Scolopendra Galapagoensis is rumoured to be able to reach lengths in excess of 17"!
