Oh jeez, I've used bleach to clean out my cat's litter box after I emptied the litter in the trash and then washed it with soap and water and nothing happened to me ......

some lady said that on coast to coast a few nights ago. i used to work in a shipping factory and some moron dropped a case of bleach in a truck. i was joking around and told him to throw kitty litter on it, and he did. stupid redneck went home sick.

yeeehh, im pretty sure thats true, my mom leaves bleach in the toilets sometimes to clean them, usually i flush it down first but once i really had to go and i peed in it and it. uh, was scary so i flushed real quick. !

Yes, it is a mustard gas, no it isn't flammable, and I highly doubt that the amount of ammonia in urine is enough to form a "cloud of posion gas". Why do you think there are products like 2000 Flushes out there that are made with bleach? The major stink in pee is urea and uric acid.

You took out the source of urine and ammonia first... that's why nothing happened. Had you poured the bleach over the consintrated amount of urine soaked litter.. you would have had something happen.

Urine has ammonia so.. NaOCl + 2NH3 --> 2NaONH3 + Cl2.

Cl2 is chlorine gas which does *very* nasty things to a body.

Yes... a very nasty poisonous gas. Chloride is something you don't want to mess with.

And Resis... It's common (or atleast I thought...) knowledge.

They teach you it in high school chemistry classes... if not, they should.. it's more for safty then anything. ;P

That ammonia combined with bleach.. is bad. That urine is mostly ammonia...

I mean it was one of the first things tought to us in high school chemistry... Do they not even do that anymore?? Or does no one pay attention? Eitherway... it's mind boggling... And it makes me cringe to think about the school systems...
