Now is the time to rise up against our oppressors and demand the return of the chat counter!

I have reclaimed the chatroom as my bastion of evil, where i used to sit with the most glorious Saruman, pimp mac daddy MC, Thistlypoo poos, et al. We would spend our time chatting, drinking rare beverages, and beating n00bs.

The old chat days must return, and so must the chat counter.

Then I say bring back the counter!!

The counter was removed because the chat room doesn't get used any more, with the number of people using instant messangers such as MSN, IRC chat doesn't have the appeal it once did.

The chat room is still there though for anyone who wants to use it.

Well no-one uses it now because theres no counter, and with the larger user base UM has, don;t you think we should see the counter return?

Besides the obvious, wasn't it also causing intermittant problems with the forum? I remember the board crashing a time or two because of incompatibility.

Yes it was, what was happening was that when the chat server was down, the chat counter would cause the page to take forever to load, making the forum unusable.

It was actually after a lengthy period of this that I finally decided to remove it.
