One of the greatest show jumping horses of all time, and likewise the most renowned stud right now, Quidam de Revel, has been cloned.
Some info can be found here.

I heard on the radio that it took some 400 tries before they managed to get a healthy foal... blink.gif

What would animal rights activists have to do with it? huh.gif If the foal is taken care of properly, they shouldn't care where it came from. The dissention will come from conservatives who don't feel that science should be tampering with cloning, playing God, etc. It's the same old litany every time.

With all the dead foetus I thought animal right's people wouldn't be very happy. Or is that something else?

Oh, okay, I see what you are saying. I thought you meant that would be offended by the animal itself. I'm not sure what their stance is on that, or how fully developed the faulty embryos became.
