these two Anacondas look very big to me, especially the black and white photo... it's hard to tell in photos, but its tail end looks very far away; that looks way over 30ft to me.

its hard to tell with the black and white photo as theres nothing in the foreground or background to give the snake any scale, so it could be any size yes.gif

hate to spoil the fun, but u can't tell the length in the black and white, but i guess the camera was low to the ground to amke the snake appear big.

The second photo is a picture of 3 guys holding a sewage hose. It DOES look like a snake, though. grin2.gif

1st one is a fake picture, the second is a pipe

Hey, Hey Chuppi K,

How can you tell it's a sewage hose? What about the faintly visible striations running perpendicular to the snakes length? And the dorsal curvatures? Sorry, but I do believe it is an anaconda of fairly usual size. Anacondas don't usually break length records...They are heavily built snakes that usually take the cake for their girth and weight. It very well could BE an anaconda, a very well fed one, at that!

Sewage pipe?? laugh.gif Nah! that LOOKS like a real one, not one of the biggest Anaconda pics that I've seen though. The first pic is clearly a fake one.

I find it curious that people insist the first picture is "fake" when there is nothing in the photo to suggest the size of the animal. In a "fake" photo, wouldn't the forger include something like another animal or human to make the snake look extraordiarilyy large? Otherwise, what is the point? The photo looks a little odd, probably because it may be a very old photo.

the first picture is BIGFOOT and the 2nd one is the Loch Ness Monster.

Looks like a couple of bog-standard anacondas to me.
mr_halo

erm..er why is the first one fake?, its a photo of a anaconda, its just probably not very big, still an actual anaconda though, not fake no.gif

the second one is definitely an anaconda... download it and play around with the contrast and you'll see its skin pattern.... that tail end is pointed, the last 7ft or so is also very thick for a 20 footer..it's almost a third too thick..but i cant see if it's attached to the tractor though

the black and white one could be a fake...i.e they've moved the tail end comming out of the water further away from you, if not, that is one huge snake..because the end of its tail is about 35ft away and at least 8ft of it is in the water.

the problem with this photo is, if the snake was that massive (46ft long); its head end would be much larger, the head looks too small compared to the grass...........most odd

uuum. is that head as wide as ours?..... if so it's a 46 footer... very hard to tell ohmy.gif

The second photo is definitely a snake! Whether it’s a bigger than 20ft, I couldn’t tell you? You can tell it’s not a pipe because of the way it bends and because of the coloration.

40 footers..anaconda grow upto 30(9 meters) now a real 40 footer would have created news around the world. thumbsup.gif facts at http://www.sandiegozoo.org/animalbytes/t-boa.html

Hey All,
I don't think the first picture of the ananconda is fake. It's suggested size though is definitely in question. Take a look at the grass that the snake is on... It's the biggest blades of grass i've ever seen in my life... or the camera man played some pretty good visual tricks. blink.gif
dreamhunter
dude it's fake, in fact they both look fake, you can't see the head in the second, and there is no background to see how big the snake was.

The first phot is a very old phot of a sanke, but there is no way to accurately judge its size because of the lack of anything to compare it too. the second is definitely a large snake of some kind. Sewer hose doesn't bend that way and you can barely make out the markings of the snake.
woody82
Off my viewing photo 1 looks like a hand drawn picture and the second is fake as well.

But i see were backonto the topic of giant snakes again grin2.gif
frogfish
The pics might not be fake, but the snakes are definitely not GIANT. Looks to me like a 20 foot snake.
