Yea my religon teaches to fight but never to kill.
The greatest sin is not knowing when not to fight.

Wow, I'd like to hear more about what you believe. Can you outline some main points about what you believe in?
AnuKabal
We worship the netjer that were before the ancient egyptians. We have to dicipline ourselves in many forms of combat, and through combat we become closer to the Netjer. We must never kill even in self defense, we may paralyze but never kill. Our afterlife is place where warriors of every time and religon go where they can have endless battles where you don't die, you in modern terms respawn somewhere that you can eat and rest. In our "heaven" we form mock armies and have wars. the non warriors go to a place the Netjer have set aside of eternal peace. If you fight someone who is unwilling you have to sit and watch the battles.
We honor warriors of old and research them. It is a religon that exists almost exclusivley as a minority in African nations.

Your very thought that there are 'many misconceptions about islam' and that you will 'try to clear all of them' is questionable.

The very 'misconceptions' are risen in the mind-set of 'the world' is due to some so called 'follwers of islam' or 'jeehadi' who have been using the name of the religion to justify their devilish acts. You do not need to explain their 'misunderstandings' or 'misinterpretations'. They do not belong to any religion. They only hide themselves in the cover of islam. They follow their own (non-)religion which is 'terrorism'.

You should not see yourself or islam having any kind of association to such people. You are still young and you will learn more in your life to develop your own 'understanding'. I suggest you to close this thread as there is no purpose for this. Let the people remove their 'misconceptions' themselves and I am sure they will and can do it themselves with the help of their 'understanding'!

Today is Diwali, and it is celebrated through-out in my country with the complete spirit of festivity despite what has happend in Delhi on 29th Oct, 2005. And it has been celebrated in this spirit despite those black-days which the people of this country has taken into their strides. They know that these will go on till the people who are involved in these kind of acts understand what they are doing cannot be justified by seeking refuse in any religion. It is not known how many disfigured, dismantled, burned bodies they want to see to realise their mistake!

This reality is relatively new for the rest of the world and I simply smile when I see people react to such things differently!

I hope everyone will learn and understand from their own experiences and work for a better world, both individually and collectively.

Happy Diwali for everyone!
Celebrate the festival of light.
The light of knowledge and understanding!

Every thing remains same, with few changes...

Holi is few days from now, and it is going to be celebrated through-out India with the complete spirit of festivity despite what has happend in Varanasi on 7th Mar, 2006.

Happy Holi for everyone!
Celebrate the festival of colours.
The different colours of knowledge and understanding!

I am part Arab, but am a Roman Catholic, I think the Muslims are misunderstood.

I am afraid to read the Qua'ran (Koran) because I was taught to believe ther religions are false and misleading, but I bet it is a very good book.

The Skeptics annotated Quran (Intolerance)
"(The disbelievers) are a folk without intelligence.--8:65"

Fascinating read when the words of the text are clear despite the politics that might seek to obscure it. blush.gif

Hi Johnny Boy C
Why ur Taught such???????
Quran is not an Evil Book. It's a Great Book.

JohnnyBoyC
Im sure it is, but i was brought up in a way that sort of classified other religions as impure or evil, i can not imagine my parents reaction if they saw me reading the Qua'ran.

I have a great respect for Arab culture considering i am about half Lebanese, I am even teaching myself Arabic, its just my religion that is getting in the way.

And what is your religion without your faith in it? Therefore , is it not for the honor of that respect that one would hold to a faith in open hearts and open minds if their religion claims to embrace peace?

Read if you feel compelled. Think what you can learn outside of the man made structure that claims it to be bad for your god, to do so. wink2.gif original.gif

That's probably where a lot of the current tension comes from...although there's been friction between Muslims and Jews for a long, long time now. Israel isn't the start of it all, more like an inflamatory.

The Palestininas were never in that land, the Palestinians were always a nomad ppl... The Jews were in Israel long before... they were kciked out by the Romans, before the Palestinians even dreamed of it ...
