People wise or according to folklore?
You could say Lady Bathory. She drank the blood of young maidens for years. And according to folklore, another name is nosferat.

Fake or true i don't care.

Well, Lady Bathory was a real woman in history, and quite sadistic at that. And so was Vlad Tepes in the 15th century, who would dip his bread in blood before ingesting it. He was said to have suffered from porphyria, but I doubt this...
As for fake, there is a dude named Count Chocula. But I'm not positive he drinks blood (scratches head).

Lady Bathory was also a serial killer, and perhaps the worse of all time.
Funny that she's a woman.

Pee Wee Herman made an excellent vampire as well. Better than Count Chocula anyway. Did you see Pee Wee Herman in Buffy the Vampire Slayer (the film)?

I'm thinking that strega and strigoi have similar origins and can be a type of spirit. Strega from what I remember is supposed to be a witch, while strigoi is the undead.
I'd like to add to the list Stephen Rea's character in Interview with the Vampire. The name escapes me...
edit: But steve...he WAS annoying. Him and his counting.

Interesting pic. Still a fan of the original movie (produced back in the 1930s I believe).
Excellent film. It was created in 1922 by F.W. Murnau.
Shadow of the Vampire was a great film about making that movie. Funny stuff.
