I don't think these are meant to be real; I think it's just a type of art for the guy.

I must say, this guy s definitely an artist. I'd pay for something like that... just kind of curiousity, though i don't think i'd pay as much as those people are. Great art though.....it's taxidermy meets barbie. I'm surprised i didn't think of it.

I think it was already decided that this "alien" that was found in the desert is a sting ray corpse of some sort. It was on discovery channel some time ago. I think it was found in El Paso but, not 100% sure. If it where an "alien" I doubt it would be on Ebay. At least with a starting bid of more than $1. The seller obviously knows it's not an alien. Couldn't he get in trouble for selling it with the claim that it is something it isn't? When he knows it's not an alien.

I'm NEVER selling my dried alien corpses.
They're great at parties. You can prop them up in a lounge chair, with a drink in their hand, and watch droves of guests staring with mouths agape.
"Who's that?"
"Cool costume!"
"Is that a doll?"
They can never figure it out. And when April Fool's Day comes....OMG!!!!

That's talent. I'd buy one of the "mermaids" from him, but not for that much.
<<< cheapskate.
What would one call this? "Cryptoart"?

I have to agree with the sceptics on this one. You can clearly see that they are made from some type of fibre. The mouth on the dragon is too taut anyone to have ever been alive. If you look at the both of them-the ridges run more or less the same way. There are no other regions to indicate that they are flesh. Dried flesh ridges aren't like that-have a look at some beef jerky and you will see what I mean. Beef Jerky is dried flesh as they are trying to say here and mummified. When have you known mummified animals of any kind to have those ridges? On this one, I have to say-the sceptics are right. No argument from me. Quite clever though- the alien went for either Ģ41, or $41, so they must be raking it in.

I am not a true sceptic, but when truth is evident-I will speak it.

This one looks like he just stuck a wooden devil head on a dead fish.

Yeah, he is a smart guy, he got 41 bucks for the "Alien" and 180 bucks for the obviously fake "devil mermaid". If i was into ripping people off to make a quick buck, i'd be doing what he's doing. But you cant blame him, if those morons want to pay that much, let em...
vertigoflow
Nov 21 2005, 01:01 PM
based on the comments he's recieving, i doubt any of his customers are expecting a real alien or mermaid.
He's not ripping them off, he's selling them art. His discriptions of having found "red tide victims" on the beach are obviously tounge-in-cheek.
