Hi there, me and a few of my friends were considering the use of the Ouijja board, but we then realized one thing, we don't really know how to use it. We know the layout is supposed to be the Alaphet and Numbers one to 26 and then the words yes and know.

But are there rules we need to know, certain material we use for the pointer and also how do we actually contact Spirits, certain wording, just using our minds, please explain.
Tye1
Please someone explain to me

Tye 1 wanted an answer to his question. He (or she) did not want to be told what to do or not to do.

Telling people NOT to do something only increases their curiosity and makes them feel to be outsiders. They will feel that they don't know what everybody else knows and try to find out by experiment. themselves. I would suggest that Tye 1 place an ordinary glass beaker, preferably a fine one (not too klunky) upturned on a smooth surface in the centre of the circle of letters of the alphabet and numbers 0 to 9 and Yes and No a small group of people gather round the board,(seated or standing) and place their index fingers very lightly on the glass so that there is the very least pressure possible exerted upon it. Then you all concentrate on the question you want to ask. One of the group will ask the question out loud to help everyone concentrate on it. You will then have to wait perhaps quite a while before anything happens. Perhaps nothing will happen. You must be patient. You must NOT treat it as a game or a joke. Anybody who speaks out of turn or starts giggling must be excluded from the room or the session must be concluded. It is advisable to open the session with some sort of prayer or invocation to only positive entities to present themselves. NEVER lose patience and don't just give up without formally closing the session even if nothing has happened. Never leave the board off the hook as it were, like a telephone. An emergency exit from the board in the event that something unpleasant or obviously evil appear is for the person designated to ask the questions out loud (the controller if you will) immediately to declare the session formally closed with a statement such as "We command you leave this house! This session is now closed. Goodbye"

I offer these simple instructions only so that Tye 1 get the question he asked, answered without condescending warnings from people "in the know". Good results can often be achieved just as can unfavourable ones. Enough warning has been given by now. Now it is up to you, Tye 1 to do as you please. Let me know what results you get. Good Luck! You can by them ready made that’s personally what i would do. Although I wouldn’t use it to begin with .
Lonecat there only offering advice if he doesn’t know how to use a Ouija board its not likely he knows about the aftermath of using one of them. I agree with the advice the other’s have given and would stay clear away from it but its your choice.

i didn't tell him i suggested it,you did the same in your post, anyhoo, its my own opinion not to because it could attract evil spirits and then they could get in your house and mess with you,i've never used a ouiji board before and i don't plan to because of the possibilites above,i don't even really feel comfortable talking about ouiji boards, but thats just me

This is a website about the unexplained and the mysterious, so I'm going to explain to you what you're supposed to do, regardless of how many people say it's 'horrible', if you're curious you should try.

Tye 1, there are many things you have to be aware of before you play with a ouija board. It's not a joke, it's a very serious thing and you have to respect whoever you come in contact with.

One thing I'm wondering is how old you and your friends are. It's easy for evil spirits to take advantage of weak naive minds. (Spirits will lie to you, do not believe everything they say). To play the ouija board you have to be confident and calm, and know that you are in control. It's best to have three people sit indian style in a triangle on the floor, and make sure the board is touching all three of you. I have had enourmous connection with spirits while having two other people with me, it's a good number. Light some candles, I suggest white to keep evil away. Also, light some insence, lavender for relaxation.

You have to steady your mind, don't laugh or consider it a joke. Once you all feel a calm collected atmosphere, you can say a prayer asking somebody to come forward, or simply as if anybody is in the room with you. Wait a while, and make sure you all have four fingers on the planchette. Whenever I do use the ouija board, I come in contact with somebody very quickly, atleast 10 seconds, maybe it's because I'm highly spiritual. It takes different people a different amount of time to come in contact. Don't press too hard on the planchette, but let it flow.

Slowly but surely you will feel it move. Ask simple questions. When they were born, what their name is, if they are there on good terms. Never ask about their death unless you feel comfortable with the spirit, and you know they feel comfortable with you. You don't want to make them angry.

If you have anymore questions just send me a message.

As for everybody who says it's evil no matter what, that is not true. I have come in contact with many friendly entities. I have never had a problem with weird experiences happening to me. I usually feel extremely safe when I talk to somebody through the ouija board.

I have come in contact with bad spirits before, and yes you will feel uncomfortable. If this happens immediately move the planchette to goodbye and put the board away for awhile.

I consider it extremely exciting, the first time I came in contact with a spirit I felt my heart pound harder than I ever have before. It's extremely useful if you wish to contact your spirit guide.

this is what it should look like. Be carefull though. My mate was into witchcraft and he read some of these things out of a book and we picked up an evil, angry spirit.

Just use the damn thing, nothing happens. I've tried it so many times and nothing. Maybe because me and my friends don't mess about and want a serious answer. The answer is, the board is just a bit of fun and nothing more.

I first used it about a year ago now and nothing bad has happend, no ghosts, no strange events... just carried on with my life. Tried it again a few times and again there was nothing, tried the board with other friends and nothing.

Well, I have got the Ouija Boards to work every time I have used one, even a cheap homemade Ouija Board works just fine with me. However, before I considered first using it I read up on alot of info on the Ouija just to be on the safe side and now I can safely say that nothing out of the norm has happened to either me or my friends who have used it with me. I believe that there are people who can use it the safe way and people who use it the wrong way. Whenever I use a Ouija Board, store bought or homemade, I always follow some (3) principles which include:
a.) Treat the spirits with courtesy and respect ( Dont Piss the Spirits Off! )
b.) Never ask the spirits to prove their existance in any way ( Dont ask them to move things or to "show themselves")
c.) Never ask the spirits when one of you or your friends are going to die.
d.) Always end the seance with a "GOODBYE" to close the session.

Any violation to one of these principles should be done at your own risk. I hope this helped you and good luck.

My friend and I are going to try and use an ouiija board to communicate with a ghost who has lived on my property for ages now, but I know that you should try and protect yourself, does anyone know of any spells or chants or something we can use to protect ourselves from picking up his angry bushranger spirit, or something else for that matter. disgust.gif

candy gurl
Me and my friends use them all the time. It's not that scary you know the people who made it don't even know how it works.my friend ripped hers up and it was just cardboard but then really weird stuff started to happen. like her stero would turn on and be all stacticy. thats what she told me at least.

I feel it depends and the personal beliefs of a person or what kind of spiritual energy the person draws. Which any tool you use for contacting spirits you should use precaution and it is said a person could open a portal through the Ouijja board itself. I was taught not to use one alone and before use say a prayer asking for the white light of protection be placed around you. Not a bad suggestion for anything when dealing with the paranormal or non paranormal. original.gif

Just like all the other posters on this, take the warnings and do not mess around with a ouija board, and its even worse if you have not got a clue what you are doing, just do not touch it

Say a prayer for me I find that stronger then spells unless they are white spells which are also prayers. By the way there are others way to contact a spirit other then a ouijja board if you are interested how about trying a pair of dowsing rods or crystals instead. Much safer that way especially if you do not know what you are doing. Find someone who does know there are a lot of paranormal group who just want to help. Hope that I was not out of line or offensive.

a bit of advice about the ouija...IF you happen to encounter an evil spirit or something to that effect and try to get rid of the board, do not simply throw it away. It will come back to you, as that is the door or portal, if you will, you opened to allow the being in. I'm not sure of the actual process you would have to go through, but you can probably find out how online.

Yeah if you were to ask me about a ouija board I would tell you that it is a magnet for horrible things to come, and I would suggest not even trying or thinking of playing with one, I know I have said this many times but the truth about these boards is they are no toy, no matter which way you look at it.
