Hi,
I was just wondering if anyone knows what the circle in the image is.Found at
http://maps.google.com/maps?ll=39.856519,4...09560&t=k&hl=enIt's at Menorca, Spain.
I couldn't find anything on the web, of what it might be.
I was wondering if it is some sort of stonehenge like formation.
greetings

here is a little piece of info I get gleaned from google about ancient astronomy circles
http://www.crystalinks.com/observa2.htmlThe first pic looks exactly like your one, but it explains more about the Mediterranean further down the page.

Hi,
I am a Representative of the newly formed Mysterious Entity Identify and Control Corps (ran by a Private Organization). As you may guess, I am not a liberty to answer all of your questions (I really wish i could, no im serious on that). My Field is Ancient Mysteries & Alernative History, or as my employers would like to call it, Unsolved and Re-thought History. I can really be certain about what those pictures are about, But I can be for certain it is not a "Stonehenge". Upon closer examination the center looks like it can slide away, possibilties are and Under-Ground Storage Tank, or a Government Missile Site. Now, Spain is ruomered to have Nuclear Missles, I will certainly pass this on to my employers,
Thank you,
Representative J.M. Blake

WOW! And, as a representative of this Oh so secret organization, you are allowed to post on an open discussion board!
Pardon my sceptism Mr Blake, but after reading your posts on this board, I think someone is crying out for a little attention.........

To me it looks either like, suggested by Rainbow Rowan, an ancient astronomy observatory of some kind or the remain of some old fort. But it could also be something more modern, like a former radar station position.

might be. But when I see people post things that say "I'm with a secret organization, that I can't talk about. Here is my take on your subject....", it makes me twitchy.
Sounds too much like bad sci-fi to me.

It looks kind of like a road around an underground nuclear test site. In the 1970's and 1980's the United States and the Soviet Union signed treaties that prevented us from testing nukes on the surface. For a time they were tested underground. Could be anyway.

...an underground nuclear test site
I think that's unlikely. It's a populated island, where many tourists hang out too.
I would seem odd to have planted a test site there.
