Thousands of Italians have flocked to a small southern town after witnesses claimed to have filmed a miraculous “walking statue” of the Madonna with their video phones. Acerra, near Naples, is now likely to become a Roman Catholic shrine. Rumours began at the weekend when several people at the modern church of San Pietro shouted out that a statue by the altar was moving. The hands and feet of the Madonna had begun to “take human form, flesh and blood”. The knees then appeared to move beneath her white robes, “as if she wanted to move closer to the faithful” and a cross appeared on her breast. Parishioners said that the movement had first been noticed by cleaners, who had kept silent for fear of being disbelieved. The 160cm (63in) high statue, made of plaster and marble dust, was installed at the church last December. Father Oreste Santoro, the parish priest, said that he had not seen the statue move but a number of parishioners had allegedly taken footage of the “miracle” with their mobile phones.

Unfortunatley no footage released yet!

Are we surprised? no.gif

Hi there - I'm new to the site but whishing I'd found it years ago - there's just so much stuff here ! This thread caught my eye and I was hoping to see some footage as well but alas no. I'm a bit of an amateur ghost & UFO hunter and I've been thinking about getting a Nokia N90 smartphone - purely because of the quality of the digital and video cameras it has built into it. It would be great to have quality equipment in your pocket at all times - just in case ! Has anyone used an N90 and has feedback they could share ?

I've pasted some links below that demonstrate the video quality of the N90 but unfortunately not with the subject matter that we're all interested in !

Many thanks - simonc.

Mass hysteria?

So nobody has anything to offer me on the N90 smartphone thing ? Is it possible to capture convincing video footage on a mobile or smartphone or am I barking up the wrong tree ?

cheers - simonc.

P.S. Did anyone else watch any of the 'Dead Famous Live' stuff over the weekend ? What did you think ? I'm not about those American 'experts' - they all seemed a bit show bizz to me.
