Well, I know quite a few researchers who would beg to differ with this opinion. Like I said, none of these aircraft became operational. The nuclear test in question is still subject to debate and allegedly took place in the Baltic.

There is no proof what so ever that Germany was ever in a nuclear program, and a huge factor about it not being able, is the size of Europe, it's not capable to host a blast. About the dirty bomb, yes they were thinking if dropping it over New York's water supply, and some important buildings, but they never really got to the take of crossing the Atlantic.

then why did the Nazis go to such expense to build heavy water plants in Norway? Heavy water's scientific name is Dueterium Oxide and it is an important component in the nuclear process.

"Because heavy water reactors can use natural uranium, it is of concern in efforts to prevent nuclear proliferation. Heavy water production reactors can be designed to turn uranium into bomb-usable plutonium without requiring enrichment facilities. Heavy water production reactors have been used for this purpose by India, Israel, Pakistan, North Korea, Russia and USA. There is no evidence that heavy water power reactors, such as the CANDU design, have been used for military plutonium production.

Due to its potential for use in nuclear weapons programs, heavy water is subject to government control in several countries. Suppliers of heavy water and heavy water production technology typically apply IAEA administered safeguards and material accounting to heavy water." (In Australia, the Nuclear Non-Proliferation (Safeguards) Act 1987).

Some very good points fantazum. I recently attended a lecture by an author named Wolfgang Samuel. He has published an excellent book on American efforts to exploit Luftwaffe technology after the war and has pointed out that we might be rethinking a lot of our long held beliefs about the war as more records become declassified. We might just have to think differently about a lot of the German weapons programs as more information becomes available.

Hey I really enjoyed reading the posters ideas, thanks! I'm currently writing a paper/story for English class about World War II where, guess what, Germany wins! Almost everything in it is based on fact about plans Germany had and tactics used. One thing I know happened was that there were German moles in New York preparing for an invasion there, but it never happened so they were screwed.
In the story the way everything happens is that Stalingrad is lost, and Germany is able to simply roll over Russia. They don't face resistance because the Red Army is disheartened, and soldiers are just abandoning their units and surrendering, completely naive to how Russian soldiers are actually treated by Germany. Their weapons all freeze over, Germany and Russia, except for pisols because they're close to everyones body and kept warm. The Russians and Germans have a few days of battles where it's just people firing blindly with pistols, except Germany is eventually able to unfreeze their machinery and massacre the Russians.
Hitler doesn't use money anymore (remember, he's a national socialist) because he just has resources. He now has all of Russia, and since I don't want to summarize the entire thing in detail ill do it quickly. The Germans invade britain and take everything except london. That takes a few days to fall. The only success america has is Patton, but he has to retreat. Japan and Germany work like the gears in a car, one attacks while the other rests. Germany finishes off europe while Japan invades America, Canada, and South America. Canada and south america go quickly. America has some resistance, and the east coast is isolated. Germany then invades the east coast and takes everywhere up till D.C. Every other country in the world soon surrenders, leaving D.C. as earths last stronghold. He left D.C. for last as a symbolic event. It eventually falls, and the story ends. Im still toying with whether or not to have Hitler be assassinated in a victory parade in London or not.

There is absolutely no way that Hitler could carry out such a massive naval assault in such a short space of time, but, over a long period of time, he could slowly overwhelm the US navy. But in order to do this, I think he would have to take Britain first, and that was never going to happen, I don't care what anyone says, British people are quite possibly the most patriotic people in the world, and there is no way they would have let hitler invade, if they knew he was coming, Im sure everyone would do what they could to repel him, for that reason, he would not have succeeded, even if he did, he wouldn't have been there for long. British would develop a huge underground rebellion and get rid of him quickly. thumbsup.gif

If he took britain, he would have been way to overstretched to control two continents. And let's face it, Hitler was used to land invasions, I'd like to see ? him pull of a naval assault on a beach, like the US and UK (and others) did on D-Day when Hitler got pwned!!!11 lol.

P.s Hitler was a h4x0r
Mr Ed
Hitler didn't have the man power to occupy that amount of territory anyway. There is no way he could have invaded and occupied Russia, a large part of Europe, the UK and the USA.

I agree.

Hitler knew that his military was no match for the mighty Americans war machine even then. It is a know fact that Hitler tried his best to keep America out of the War in Europe. It was ingenuity of FDR and Churchill that prevented that.

This scenario presents us with an absolute impossibility.
The German army was stretched over Europe and Russia. There is no way they would have had the man power to invade the USA, they couldn't even invade my country, a small island with a very small distance between it and an occupied France.

thats only because hitler decided not to invade.
Dr_Strangelove
I don't think the Germans ever thought about invading the United States. They simply didn't have the army or ships to do so. This was especially so in light of the war in Russia. What they did consider doing was bombing the United States. They had some pretty interesting plans to do so but none of these plans ever got off the drawing board.
