here's a couple of vids of some of my friends cars... the vid isn't all that great:

turbo '92 civic hatch vs. mod'd evo

http://media.putfile.com/HatchVSevo1

the civic has ran a best of 13.1 @ 115 mph and the evo ran a 12.8 @ 108mph. now the evo has a better tune and cams...

my buddies APR Stage III Audi A4 1.8t.. at the strip, 13.1 @ 108:

http://www.goapr.com/images/a4dragstrip111105/A4vsSTi.MPG

...he was pissed he couldn't bust out a 12 second run. he was actually spinning (awd) through 1st gear. it was a bit too cold maybe.

wow.. thumbsup.gif

audi given the green light w00t.gif

Audi has announced that it will build its Le Mans Quattro concept car and it will be called the R8, in honour of the company's successful endurance racing car.

Work has begun on the R8 production line at Audi's Neckersulm plant, where RS versions of its cars are built.

Audi has not confirmed any technical details, but the R8 will have full-time four-wheel drive and a 610bhp V10 engine developed from the Lamborghini Gallardo's to give a top speed of 218mph.

The R8 is set to go on sale in mid-2007. grin2.gif

The Lotus Exige Cup cars are based on the new 2006 Model Year Exige and are completely track ready sports coupés with uprated clutch, sports exhaust, adjustable suspension, uprated
brakes, limited slip differential, switchable traction control, a T45 steel roll-over hoop and Aframe with harness mounts, fuel and ignition kill switches and a fully plumbed in fire extinguisher system. An FIA approved 6 point roll cage is a no cost option*.
As the names suggest, the Lotus Exige Cup cars are available with two different engine variants. The Lotus Exige Cup uses a 192 PS (189hp / 141kW) and 181Nm four cylinder 1.8 litre 2ZZ VVTL-i engine, and the Lotus Exige Cup 240 uses a supercharged and intercooled high revving 1.8 litre four cylinder engine producing 247 PS (243hp / 181kW) at 8000 rpm and a torque figure of 236 Nm at 7000 rpm.

Performance from both the variants is phenomenal with the Lotus Exige Cup reaching 100 km/h in 5.2 seconds and 160 km/h in 13.2 seconds, with a top speed of 237 km/h. The Lotus
Exige Cup 240 reaches the 100 km/h mark in around 4.5 seconds and 160 km/h in 11.3 seconds. Top speed is 249 km/h.[attachmentid=20826]

No, it's a Tucker 48. (AKA Tucker Torpedo)

Preston Tucker thought up the car company, because he felt that American cars were unsafe and needed to be changed. The car featured a third center headlight, that turned with the steering wheel (only recently have some cars started to use this), a windshield that would pop out in an accident, preventing the driver from being thrown trough the glass, and a safety frame that surrounded the passenger compartment.

0-60 m.p.h. 10.0 sec.
Top speed 119 m.p.h. at Sebring, 1956
30-35 mpg
(Not great today, but amazing in 1947)

Due to false allegations started by newspapers, GM, and Ford, Tucker almost immediately went out of business in 1948. Only 51 Tucker 48's were ever made.

I know this is an old thread, but I didn't want to start another car thread.
Anyway, I definitely am a car enthusiast.
I like '60s/early '70s American muscle cars, '50s-mid-'70s Cadillacs, and '50s to mid-'70s American cars in general (except subcompacts).
I currently own three cars...
1969 Cadillac Fleetwood Brougham, triple black
1976 Cadillac Fleetwood Seventy-Five Limousine, triple black
1995 Lincoln Town Car Signature, grey

Here are some photos of my limo and a few specs--
'76 Cadillac limousine, 9-passenger (mine is #246 of 834 built for '76)
Engine------------------------- 500-cu-in
Wheelbase-------------------- 151.5"
Overall length---------------- 252.2" (just over 21 feet)
Weight------------------------ 6,040 lbs
Rear axle ratio--------------- 3.15:1
Current odometer mileage- Approx. 97,000 miles
Fuel mileage------------------ 9-12.5 mpg
0-60 mph--------------------- Approx. 12.5 seconds
Interior----------------------- Front leather; rear crushed velour
Features---------------------- Two separate (front/rear) climate conrol systems, rear radio controls, power glass partition window, jump seats in back and footrests.

Naw, I'm a gal, but I LOVE cars. I have owned in my 40 years, 6 mustangs.... 4 SVT Mustang Cobra's 1996-2001, and one 1996 GT Mustang, and one 1966 classic straight 6, 3spd. Loved them all. It's one reason I like that Panoz Esperante on the page before that I posted. It's basically a Mustang under the hood, but with a British accent on the outside tongue.gif laugh.gif

I'm currenty searching for another '67 or older project beetle in need of TLC. But this ones going to be built for speed.

^^^ pretty, VERY pretty. That's one of the only vettes I really like the styling on! They drive like tanks though. LOL. But most cars from that year do so it's not its fault lol.

Call me crazy but the two vehicles I really miss are :

'59 Land Rover long body with the 56HP Perkins diesel engine, I really loved mine. He conked out in Morroco in '75 after I had it for two years. I rescued it from a Spanish farmer who was using it as tractor to work his fields.

'73 Norton Commando 750. I traded it in for a Honda 750 four... and hated me for months after it.
