Full Version: Water on Europa?
Unexplained Mysteries Discussion Forums > Science > Science & Technology
Kaj
Did read about small microbs that can survive in extreme hostile inviroment.
Could it be possible here?.... Europa has always cought my intrest.

QUOTE
The images of Europa's surface strongly resemble images of sea ice on Earth. It is possible that beneath Europa's surface ice there is a layer of liquid water, perhaps as much as 50 km deep, kept liquid by tidally generated heat. If so, it would be the only place in the solar system besides Earth where liquid water exists in significant quantities.

I believe it's possible for life, such as microbes, to exist on Europa.

Europa is cool cool.gif

If they find microbes and it gets in to the earth water system somehow, and survives, and is devostating to our own microbes.....the seas would die...
I´m little afraid of what would happen if they aren´t careful. dontgetit.gif

If it will reassure you, I will talk to 'them' about it, and tell 'them' to be careful thumbsup.gif

Thanx Homer..... can you remind them to be carefull with those Algae samples well your at it .... alien.gif

Consider it done Kismit original.gif

I´t could be really dangerous, couse if life on earth was introduced by a comet maybe some microbes ended up on other parts of our solar system and are well compatible with life on earth, and then if those microbes are stronger maybe it will kill the earth microbes (as I said earlier)

This is one of the difficulties aliens would have on earth,(among us,theories) I think, Bakterias and such, you know how sensitive life is to organism in, for example, water, air and food. ( been in a foreign country?? then you know what I mean )

(just writing when it pops up, does it make sense?) wacko.gif

Oh found one of my own old threads.... I sound really intelligent here original.gif
Conspiracy
maybe if europa is old enough and does have microbs in the ocean there then maybe it aint just micros.. maybe theres sea life to o.O
Steeler Mania
but doesn't water ice sublime into the cosmos if sufficient atmospheric pressure is not there? That is what I read in a Mars thread. If that is not true, then Mars could hold some life forms more advanced than Europa since Mars is in the so called temporate zone as in relation to the sun and does have an atmosphere. hmm.gif
Kaj
You are right...original.gif

Well, I believe ther is microbes, or even small bottomfeeders on Europa.

Anyway, ANYTHING brought from space is locked in a LEVEL 4 Biohazard Lockdown. NOTHING could escape.
Kaj
Mistakes could happen, we have seen it happen.
For example: If a returning ship blows up in earths atmosphere in the future or a ship carries some unknown really resistant microbes on the body.
