Hi Everyone:

In 1981, I had just moved to a new area and went out to eat at a restaurant in town with my boyfriend at the time. I got up to go to the lady's room. It looked like it was completly empty to me. I used the restroom and was washing my hands at the sink. In front of the sink was a mirror. All of a sudden the image of a lady appeared in the mirror and she was apparently standing in back of me. I did not hear the door open and I could have sworn I was the only one in the restroom. I however thought well, I may have been wrong.

When I saw the lady she was dressed in old fashion clothing and was wearing a long dress. I immeadiatly thought to myself, gee, that lady needs some fashion advice. Maybe she is in a strange religion where they dressed like that. I smiled at her reflection in the mirror and was quickly trying to finish washing my hands since it was a small bathroom with only two stalls and one sink.

I finally got done and turned around and there was no one there. I was dumbfounded. I went back to the dinner table and told my boyfriend at the time about my experience. He said that the lady probably left and I did not hear the door close.

I did not think very much about it until later when I was reading a newspaper article in which this restaurant was mentioned. It stated that a long time ago, a train derailed right in back of the restaurant and that many people died. That many people have reported seeing ghosts at the restaurant and one lady reported that the exact same incident that happened to me also happened to her.

The restaurant is still in the same place and is called Ashleys. It used to be called Gentleman Jims when I saw the image in the mirror. The Fla today newspaper reported the story on it.

Wow that’s a really interesting story. You’re pretty lucky as not many people get to see a spirit so clearly. thumbsup.gif

yeh thats cool, plus you wernt scared witless by knowing it was a ghost, just smiling. must have been a good experience, if not a weird one too

Hi Jonb:

When I smiled, I still did not know it was a ghost. Had I known it was a ghost, I would have been terrified. Nelly from the block

ah yeh thats what i meant sorry, forgot to put in a *not* before 'knowing'

How interesting and I have personally never seen a spirit so clearly like you did. I only sense them and that is fine for me right now. I am not sure if I would have been scared if I had known she was deceased. Thanks for sharing that. original.gif

Hi Peako:

I really do not consider myself lucky. Strange things like this have been happening to me since I was a little girl and people usually do not believe me when I try to tell them these stories. I plan to post on the many incidents soon. Nelly from the Block

Hi Ancestralbone:

This was the first time in my life that I have seen a ghost that clearly and that the ghost looked like a real person. Other times, I have only seen shadows that I recently found out are called, Shadow People. I plan to post about these stories soon. Nelly From the Block

Same thing for me - most people I relate my stories to are very skeptical. It's nice to be able to post on here and have at least most people believe you (there are some skeptics on UM but that's to be expected, everyone has their own opinions)

Hello nycrican,
That sounds very interesting I would love to hear about the Shadow people since I have not heard of them before. I only am able to sense the energy an once a while a outline figure but not clear. I am glad that my friend turned me onto this forum but he had better not send me anymore forum sites otherwise my writing career is not going to go anywhere. laugh.gif

That's really cool. Didn't TAPS go to that restaurant on an episode of Ghosthunters?

Wow...that ghost must've been extremely clear and life-like. Most people who see or feel ghosts deal with a mere image, face, or outline. You had also said that a woman had a similar expierence when she visited this resturant. Did you ever meet up with her or talk to her? You have an interesting story wink2.gif

I am not sure whether Taps went there. I recently Googled this topic and found out that more then one set of GhostBuster group has been there.

Yes, the ghost looked as real as any person would look in a mirror. The mirror image gave no clue that she was a ghost as all.

No, I never did contact the other lady. At the time I read about the story, I was a lot younger and not as outgoing. If I knew who the lady was today, I would definitely contact her. I have Googled this topic recently and I have found many things about this restaurant but I have yet to find the original article I read where they reported that this also happened to someone else. I found one Ghostbuster type site which reported that other people had also seen the ghost in the ladies restroom mirror but they did not report any names.

Hi Bebi:

You are right. It is great to be able to speak to people about these paranormal experiences and not have people think I am crazy. I belong to many forums about all different topics. This is one the lastest forums I have joined and so far, I think it rocks!!!
