Actually, the picture is faked, take a look at the conflicting light sources... The light is shining on the jellyfish from the top right corner of the picture while light is shining on the guy from the opposite corner. Also, it's really obvious that the guy was cut out and pasted into that pic. Moreover if the jelleyfish was really that large, only part of it would be in focus, the tentacles receding into the distance would be blurry.
Jellyfish that large MAY exist... but this a not one of them.

While that pic may be fake, there are jellyfish that...well they may not get that wide, but they can be over 100 feet long...most of that length being there tentacles.

Also the diver's carbon dioxide bubbles are severely lacking.

Whatever fancy name for that is.

That is fake...the largest jellies have a bell no more than a couple feet in diameter...athough the tentacles can reach up to 100 feet....I think they are called Mane Jellies...

Lion Mane to be precise. Could be a real species of Jelly but that IT's not that big. Someone pasted that diver in there to make it look bigger in contrast.

I didn't say the photo wasn't real. I just can't tell how big it is compared to the diver. For all I know, the thing could be tiny.

While I dont think that the picture is real, I have no doubt that the oceans of the world are home to creatures of all sizes. Just because we havent seen it doesnt mean its not there! I must admit, that first one would be hard to miss!

The original photo, under my skepticism, is indeterminable.
"Conflicting Light Source": A jellyfish isn't opaque, nowhere near, the light can just as well shine through one.
The cut out effect: The photo was taken underwater, so those areas that look "cut out" may just be light refracting.
There are in fact CO2 bubbles, but they're VERY indistinct.
There's a line around the diver, that may suggest image editing, but could also be caused by the files format.
In the future, I'd suggest looking at your criticisms, trying as hard as you can to rationalive them, criticize the rationalized ones, then repeat. Then post ALL your findings. Being a skeptic means you look at all the evidence, not just the favorable pieces.

anyone notice the diver is a little more blurry than the jelly fish and also why is his head turning making it look like he is looking at the jellyfish from behind it... surely if there was a jelly fish that big in front of you youd want to keep your eyes right on it
