I was watching TV the other night and I heard this, it made me think a bit so here it is:
Would you rather live 24 full years in complete peace or live your entire life in fear?

Give me a lifetime of fear.....the only thing to fear is fear itself.....it can be overcome.

Fear has many faces. I would rather wear one of them, than live a dull life in peace.

Fear is an everyday occurence, peace is truly rare. But what kind of peace????

I suffer from severe anxiety disorder-trust me, take the peace!
Life lived in fear is no life at all. It sucks.
You can't breath easy, laugh, relax, or anything, all you can do is hold your breath in hopes that sometime soon you'll just die and be done with it.

24 years

Define "fear" though...you mean a lifetime under...say...Nazi rule? Or just a lifetime of worrying that someone finds out you swept the dust under the carpet instead of cleaning it properly?

General fear vs peace, is what I'm going for. The show put it as peace vs being hunted down and killed but... not to many people here have that in their daily lifes.

To me... I'm leaning more towards the 24 years of peace, vs the fear only because why would I rather worry an entire life time vs having a third of that time being completely peaceful?

Just food for thought, that's all.

Give me a lifetime supply of Zoloft and I'll choose fear. I think with fear or hardships you learn. You progress. But if you live in the dullness of peace you are cheating yourself out of experiences that can make you a better person.

Maybe that sounded harsher than I mean't it to... But evreyone has a couple of self-esteem issues or a bout of neurosis...it seems a tad off when you're announcing to a forum of 30,000 people that you hope to die soon.

I'd choose a lifetime of fear. Peace is boring. I think what I just said could even be proof of that.

Don't we have a life of fear anyway? Constant threat of death, every day?
I'd pick the life of fear.

Years 0-24 are the best of your life aren't they?
If I haven't done something by then I'll probably never do it. At least with the 24 years you'd know when your time was up and prepare and live accordingly

Not everybody fears death. The threat of death is merely a natural part of life, and as beautiful as life it's self. It's something we shall all experience.

Peace isn't always boring either.

You could still play games, go out and such. Just me though.

I am a simpel man, don't need or want much.
I'll take the 24 years of peace.
Don't want to live the rest of my life in fear.
Had a paranoide friend, don't have him anymore.
he couldn't take it, living in fear al the time, only 21 years old...
So I'll take the peace.

fear is never a good thing to have to live with. it eats away at you and ruins your life. (yes, i speak from experience).
besides, with 24 years of peace, i would have the chance to get all my reading done.

Well I dont know now, I certainly dont live a life of peace. If anything my my life is very hectic and chaotic. Sometimes even violent, But I dont live in fear either. So I'd just have to walk off stage, And let some other poor sap trade away his life for door number 2.

Do I get to become Darth Vader during my lifetime of fear? If so, sign me up. If not, sign me up anyway.

How can some one define peace? Is it peace of mind? In a world with a lot of questions and not enough answers, I think it is impossible to ever truely find peace of mind. Like Yelekiah said, there is always Zoloft.

Walken,
Have a little bit more respect. Your answer is not funny nor is it intelligent. Be thankful that you do not have a problem such as this and hope it won't happen anytime soon.

Heck, 24 years of peace would would be my choice. Constant fear leads to suicide.
