So much for scientists and established "facts"

Brilliant find.

The long term benefits of this are ubelieveble, from powering households to rocket power. The mind bogles with the possibilities this advance could achieve, if supported properly.

Theories should be challenged and not taken as gospel. If you believe Quantum Theory then there is only so far you can go, no challenge. If you don't believe it then you're not limited by 'rules' and can 'think outside the box' like this guy.

A theory is not a "fact". The debate continues as regards this particular innovation. There's some question regarding the math involved to support these claims. This is being discussed over on Bad Astronomy. This is far from being a "sure thing"....time will tell.

This is a very interesting, and though I hold some skepticism regarding the claims I look forward to its continued development.

this doenst necesarily mean quantum physics is wrong....

you cant use the theory of relativity on small scales, just as you cant use quantum physics on large scales, but becuase they both work its beleived that there must be some underlying theory (M-Theory) joining them, perhaps this is just another part of the big picture that goes along with what we have allready discoverd....

I hope it's not proved wrong.Even though i dont understand it well ,the possibilities it opens up are mind boggling...parrallel universes etc,so i hope they dont prove it to be wrong

"It seems too good to be true: a new source of near-limitless power that costs virtually nothing, uses tiny amounts of water as its fuel and produces next to no waste. If that does not sound radical enough, how about this: the principle behind the source turns modern physics on its head.

What has much of the physics world up in arms is Dr Mills's claim that he has produced a new form of hydrogen, the simplest of all the atoms, with just a single proton circled by one electron. In his "hydrino", the electron sits a little closer to the proton than normal, and the formation of the new atoms from traditional hydrogen releases huge amounts of energy.

This is scientific heresy. According to quantum mechanics, electrons can only exist in an atom in strictly defined orbits, and the shortest distance allowed between the proton and electron in hydrogen is fixed. The two particles are simply not allowed to get any closer."

Here are some good links.

all this does is reveal the obvious ~ nothing is what it seems, especially when it relates to facts...facts tend to remind me of paradox..

Quantum is BS? Sweet, now I don't have to research it to prove my Predetermined Universe theory (which works perfectly in Newtonian). grin2.gif *clicks link*

Does this mean that theres no point in renting out "what the bleep" ?
Bummer......i was looking forward to seeing it

doesn't matter if it's theory or "fact", the important thing is:

Does it support your preconceived conclusion?
Adramaleck
let us hope it is not proven wrong, for it will lead us all a step closer to a theory of unification.

I doubt it, it will make the world a stupid place. Dreams of weaving straws into gold in this case it is squeezing energy out power out of nothing, I haven't seen what experiments he performed to show that there is a lower gnd state than Bohr's radius. Betcha it dies faster than cold fusion.

BUSTED! Good old Wikipedia has everything it seems. The earlist claim was made in 1991 by Dr Randell Mills His whole basis for his theory is a flawed model of the electron which is inconsistent with experimental evidence (may his name live in infamy). One reason for his claims were perhaps the millions invested by suckers dreaming of free energy.
