They’re All Thumbs

The mayor of Las Vegas, Nevada has proposed a strange way to deter young people from defacing freeways with graffiti – cutting off their thumbs.

Not only does he propose cutting off the digit as punishment for spray painting, Mayor Oscar Goodman thinks it should be done on television.

The man in charge of Sin City also believes whippings and canings should be brought back for kids who get into trouble, but not until after the alleged offenders have their day in court, of course.

It would be interesting to see what punishment he'd dole out to young people caught giving someone the finger.

why not build walls for the kids to spray on that allows them to express their creativitiy.

Because by doing that they aren't being 'bad'. To hell with the cane, it's an electric baton we need.

well in our area we used to have a problem with graffiti, and the council erected walls for them and now its a major cool spot to go hang out

I dunno, legal walls for spraypainting, I mean, where's the rebellion in that? That's what graffitti is a lot of the time - rebellion.

But yeah, get rid of their evolution. No more opposable thumb, no more problem. Damn, Darwin had it right

I am all for corporal punisment, only way to learn in my book.
That's how I learned right from wrong, broke moms expensieve vase got a kick in the a$$.

So without thumbs, how are these naughty kids to work when they do become more responsible as adults? You could not even write if your thumbs were cut off. Talk about causing more rebellion and people dependent on welfare or disability benefits...

...The hell. Who the in the firey pits of the abyss votes in a unreliable conservative like this? This guy should be punished ....not only impeached but punished to a minium of 5 years of federal prison for saying these things.
