On 10/29/2005 in Saigon, Vietnam a statue of Mother Maria cried and now people are all over it trying to take pictures. The government are blocking the road access to the statue.
Also I heard my friends said that the day this statue cried in some or most temples the buddha statues cried too. Not sure if this is a warning to something bad happen soon to Vietnam like the bird flu, but heres the link to the pictures Note: Its in Vietnamese.

It might be fake, I remember some years ago, in porugal, there were a statue of mother Maria that cried blood, but eventually the descendant of the person who made the statue, showed up and told it was a secret technice that was teached in his family for generations, it had some kind of mechanism, and a recipient, this man told this to the press cause he didnt wanted the church to use it as fake advertisement.
That statue is big enough to not to be moved, so it might be one of those.

Wow! I've heard about things like this happening.
I only saw one picture because my computer is a bit slow today, so I couldn't see the different methods of photography. I'd like to see one that had been taken with a heat-sensitive lense to see if the tears were warm (warmth has been know in the past with this kind of phenomenon). If the pictures are fake, it would be difficult to keep the tears warm on a statue made of stone.
EDIT: Welcome to UM, aznraven88.

You could fake those easily these days, but it must have been quite a sight.

This case is very weird because...Buddha statues crying too? o_o; Well assuming the mother mary statue cried, that would imply that the Christian religion were right...but if the Buddha ones cried...wtf...I'm confused. D=

A bit more impressive than Ganesh drinking milk. It's interesting all the sights they've had around the world. I'll look into this one.

You know, the "Ganesh drinking milk" thingy got the whole of India into a frenzy few years ago. People were lining up in huge queues in front of temples with milk for Ganesh idols.
It was nothing but surface tension at work, which made milk trickle away in several directions along the surface of the idol. It is really amazing, how many people WANT to believe in such things even when the evidence is so clear.
The pictures of Mother Maria are not very clear but such things are not that difficult to fake, given the overwhelming majority of people who are ready to believe in such things at the drop of a hat.

True, I wish I could remember the name of the documentary on how they faked the tears of blood on a statue. It was the same doc where they showed Ganesh "drinking milk". It was a good episode though. If they break that statue in half, they'll find out if it's real or not.

You'll be very lucky if they don't break you in half if you even suggest it to the believers.

A lot of them I'm sure are scams. People should realize that these are pretty easy to fake nowadays. But people have faith in it. Oh, well.

crying statues....personally, I dont see what the fuss is. i think God has performed real miracles, and those are miralces that change peoples lives. i think its a scam, or just a small form of mass hysteria...i mean, what is a crying statue going to do for you and your faith...

This make remember of a pair of "crying" marys....all fake, very clever ways to make "cry" the statue. And yes, there are a lot of people that belives it has a miracle in the instant. Just like the people how see the virgin mary in a mirror or a toast.

Best thing to do, would be to get a small sample of the " Tears" and run them through a DNA scan. This will prove if it is water, or actual tears.
