If UFOs landed in a watermelon patch you wouldn't have a circle. You'd have a mess.

Dude, I once had crop circles on my head, or would those be called hair circles?

Actually, the more I think about it, they were triangles, yeah, triangles.

Because uh, crops are big & take up lots of land? They also have no structures and have nothing to block a connection with the earth. As well, the circles do no harm in a field other than to the immediate crop. use your head. Like asking why people play baseball in fields instead of their living rooms. let's think on this

It's just there isn't enough marijuana grow in the fields. Of course the aliens would get stoned and crash into a farm.

Hair circles would be inconvenient, to say the least.

Was it a left turning swirl, or a right turning swirl, or do you have more than one "crop circle" on your noggin?

Id say because they (the crops) are filled with water?
which is why the nodes of the plants are the most affected part of the plant(bending, expulsion cavities)... because they hold the most water.
EDIT:
also, because the crops grow over certain geological areas which attract this unknown energy source (most likely solar flares) ... other areas without crops overtop show no signs of being affected because there is nothing for the energy to effect (like the water inside the node of a plant which leaves recordable and visible evidence).

Because crops don't fight back like say a pack of wolves might! Yeah, that's why it's always the crop circles and never the shark circles!
Can you believe that I really have nothing constructive to add to this discussion yet found a way to post anyhow?

If I found a crop circle in my soybeans, or horse corn do I get a subsidy check or write it off on my taxes? That is my only question.
