Who here knows someone who has accomplished Nirvana, or Moksha even?]

Well, I guess it really depends on the religion.

I think you can get close to Nirvana by practicing asceticism.

ascetic:A person who renounces material comforts and leads a life of austere self-discipline, especially as an act of religious devotion.

You can fast as a form of religious devotion. Or just torture yourself.

well... im pretty close to nirvana... it's right next to me on my shelf. sorry, it was to hard to pass up.

isn't nirvana the goal of buddhism, so only buddhism can acheive it?

That and removing desire from one's life.

heh, yeah i know where they got the name from. there albums are on my shelf, and im near them, so im near nirvana

and

nirvana is the “extinction” – the soteriological goal of Buddhism; the final cessation of rebirth into suffering existence.

well, those are from a defining search on google, their were more, but most went into to much detail that got slightly confusing. so i went with the more basic definitions
