Eddie Guerrero was found dead [sunday] in the bathroom of his Minneapolis hotel room, harking back to the frightful day when Brian Pillman was found in his St. Paul hotel room in October 1997. Although details are still coming in at this time, the entire wrestling industry as a whole is devastated as Guerrero was one of the most universally liked wrestlers in the entire business, having passed through every major company of the last decade at every position imaginable.

There are no happy endings today, not for Eddie’s friends, his fans, or most importantly, his family. Not for a business that now has to bury another one of it’s own. Eddie Guerrero was supposed to be the happy ending, but instead he’s left behind a wife and three daughters, far too soon and far too young. There are no happy endings today, just unanswered questions, guilt, grief, and sadness for those closest to Guerrero. This is a sad day for the wrestling business, and PWInsider.com offers our deepest condolences to everyone who cared about Eddie Guerrero.

My condolences go out to all of his family and friends, and everyone else who cared about him.

Rest In Peace Eddie Guerrero no.gif

Edit: For those of you who are not familiar with him, he is a popular wrestler in the WWE (World Wrestling Entertainment) on Smackdown

Apparently he was found still holding his toothbrush. Although the cause of death is unknown, they think he died from a heart attack.

This guy was an inspiration. People out there will say "oh, so a wrestler died... who cares"..... This guy may have been a very talented wrestler and entertainer, but his life was a story of overcoming adversity... from alcoholism, addiction to painkillers..... a car accident where they said he would have to learn to walk again..... to a seperation from his wife and family (due to the painkiller problem)....

He went through all this, and came out the other side as a true inspiration. His own words.... "I am sorry for what I did, but Im not sorry for the steps I took to correct my problems".

He had just celebrated his 4th year of sobriety, and after cleaning himself up and getting his life back on track..... He has a heart failure (suspected)...... That is truly not the way this story should of ended....

......that's Rob Van Dam's move...not Eddie's....

It might be difficult for non-wrestling fans to understand....but I feel very much like I've lost a close friend in all this. Wrestling's been such a huge part of my life now for so long, I honestly can't help but feel genuine emotion for not only the characters in the ring, but the people who portray them.

As Subby said, Eddie's life was a story about overcoming personal demons, and of picking himself back up from the absolute lowest he could possibly go. It's difficult to imagine what he had to endure, and even more difficult to imagine how he managed to climb his way back up to not just a normal life, but a successful one. But the fact that he did makes him one of the most inspirational human beings that I've ever known.

I saw Eddie wrestle live once, and at the closing of the show he got on the microphone, and said "thank you for letting me be a part of your family tonight." I think that it's we who owe Eddie a thank you.

Gracias, Eduardo Guerrero

Vickie Guerrero speaks on Eddie's autopsy report
Nov. 15, 2005

After the untimely passing of Eddie Guerrero, WWE and the entire sports-entertainment community is still reeling from the devastating loss of a champion. The initial autopsy reports on Guerrero have come in. WWE.com spoke with Eddie’s widow, Vickie Guerrero, earlier today.

“It was heart failure. It was from his past – the drinking and the drug abuse. They found signs of heart disease. She (the examiner) said that the blood vessels were very worn and narrow, and that just showed all the abuse from the scheduling of work and his past. And Eddie just worked out like crazy all the time. It made his heart grow bigger and work harder and the vessels were getting smaller, and that’s what caused the heart failure. He went into a deep sleep.

As soon as they saw his heart, they saw the lining of his heart already had the heart disease. There was no trauma, and Eddie hadn’t hurt himself in any way. It answered a lot of questions. I knew Eddie wasn’t feeling very good for the last week. He was home and kept saying he wasn’t feeling good and we thought it was just “road tired.” So we thought he just had to rest. It answered a lot of my questions, too, because he was just so exhausted. She said it was normal because the heart was working so hard.

When he didn’t call me last night and the night before I knew it was for real, because he would call me every night. I miss his phone calls. I cried through the whole thing (last night).

I loved his laugh. His laugh was the best.

We just celebrated his four-year sobriety last Thursday. We just thought we had life by the handful. We thought we had it all figured out. He worked so hard to make a better life for us.

I’m just overwhelmed by how people are coming out. It’s touched my heart a lot.

Everybody was just in awe last night in how beautifully everything was put together.

All my life was wrestling. All he did was take care of them and live for that. And I don’t know what to do now.”

R.I.P. Eddie Guerrero!

You know, it's actually something of a comfort to know that's how he died...it made me very angry reading some of the speculation going about that he had gone back on drugs and/or drink. I knew Eddie was a stronger person than that...at least this'll put an end to the speculation.

Indeed.... just like it makes me angry some guy on ESPN radio said no-one should care about a wrestler dying, bringing up steroid use and such.....

Carla
That’s really sad I liked Eddie Latino pride !
