Full Version: Why people go to spiritually in old age only?
Unexplained Mysteries Discussion Forums > Unexplained Mysteries > Spirituality, Religion and Beliefs

The death can come to any body at any time. This is an arrow that is hunting every body in this world. In the old age the death is very near. Thus a old person is hunted by two arrows constantly. If one does not divert to spiritual line even in the old age, he is similar to a student who does not open the book even in the month of March.

Yes, very unreasonable and rather useless comment.

And why would an old person have 'two arrows' if they are closer to death, if this arrow of death is 'stalking' us our whole lives?

As probably one of the oldest members here, I can say that even as a youngster I was interested in spiritualiity, the Occult, comparative Religion, etc. As a young man, I studied the religions of whatever country I happened to reside in, usually with a priest or clergyman of that religion, not as a convertee, but as one interested in that religion. I was raised in a Deist family and have never considered leaving Deism, but that has never been a factor in my study of the various aspects of religion, the Occult and spirtuality. As I get older (I probably have socks older than many of the members here), I do not find myself drawn to those religions offering "pie-in-the-sky-by-and-by", but rather repulsed by their blantant falseness! I will greet death without fear, knowing that I have lived my life as best as I could under the circumstances that life put me in and will greet the Creator (if that is part of dying) with love and honor. yes.gif

While what the others are saying is true, I did see a show once where they talked about how older people were more apt to attend religious services, even if they did not grow up doing so.

I would put it down to the fear of death and the search for some comfort.

And Company.

But I have to say the youmg christian movement, is growing quite rapidly. It might just seem that older people are attending religious services, only because of the above mentioned reasons.

I guess 90% of people are some sort spiritual. Spirituality is a fundamental part of a human being, don't ask me why, it's just my empirical knowledge about that. I don't know if it is a product of evolution (intelligence) or really there is a Creator that gave us the chance to "know" him. I admire the really spiritual people, because they sometimes serve as an example of conduct, but hear me, only the REALLY spiritual people, not the fake ones or the hypocrites. If you want to be spiritual, go ahead, know that only the irrespectful people are going to call you things. thumbsup.gif

And just to tell you, the most skeptic people I know are old age. Young people are feeling somewhat uncomfortable with the world we are living in, so I guess spirituality is going on a rise on young ones.

Personally I don't know if I am spiritual or not. I just like to keep people around me happy and to obey my moral laws. Call me spiritual if you want, or not, cause that's not going to change me a bit.

"The death can come to any body at any time."
"In the old age, the death is very near."

Isn't that a contradictory set of statements that "fight" each other on some eternal trip?

Seriously, the very mili-second, that one "body/cell" can be aborted in a womans body, it could be considered death. Before, during, and after a person is born into the world, death is 'hunting' on a constant continu-um.

In the old age? Whats 'old'? Whats 'near'?

*Sorry, but - it is true, you contradicted yourself. I don't know where you get the idea there is any more than one arrow as it is, when someone is having a baby at any given moment- and could have a mis-carriage(and die), an abortion, a tornado could destroy the hospital, an asteroid could fall on the city, who knows.*

It's all 'final destination' your talking about in the statements. Death isn't hunting us all by means of intellegent design. The 'arrow' could represent so many things, take any object that could cause you death. Even if it was you, since you could be the arrow itself.
