Okay, so you are quickly taking over the spirituality forum, not that I have a problem with that but I think we would all very much like to know just who and/or what you are. I mean are you a theology professor, religious zealot, actual swami- what?

Well, what I didn't get from the guy was the response to his notions of 'death', when I question him on why he contradicted himself on certain statements.

This was about the understanding of his metaphor of the arrow of death, and that some whom grow to an old age have two arrows after them since they are near death. But, I disagree, if anything everyone has just one arrow, and if anything one person could represent that arrow.

Another given point I made was that at any time "Death" couldn't 'hunt' us down - that it is just circumstantial and if anything, does not go by any "intelligent design". Of course taking after this great movie called "Final Destination".

I stilldon't know what the hell is going on here. I might be wrong on this but, it seems like the above post is from the attaswami cat that was trying to take over the site yesterday.

nope. Pflack and dattaswami are two seperate people.

They just seem to operate on the same level..............

PFlack, try as I might, I just can't understand your 'arrow of death" post. care to explain?

Quote by Dattaswami(if that is him saying it):"The death can come to any body at any time. This is an arrow that is hunting everybody in this world. In the old age the death is very near. Thus an old person is hunted by two arrows constantly. If one does not divert to spiritual line even in the old age, he is similair to a student who does not open the book even in the month of March."-end quote.

O.K. first of all. "The death" and just "death" itself are two different entities. When you say "The death" you treat it like it's an entity on it's own with an intelligence, with some kind of predator that can act and feel on it's own and make independant decisions for itself.

Which I am saying is impossible.

Because obviously not only is it impossible, it is circumstantial that death can affect anyone at any time. Even in/at the point of birth. ( And don't argue with me I know I am right.).

"This is an arrow that is hunting everybody in this world."

The arrow is probably a metaphor, great, a metaphor to use to describe the design of "the death" when it being like some "predator" is preying on human lives every day because it's intelligent enough to do it.

Impossible, that just reminds me of this movie called "Final Destination".(I said this already).

The metaphor in my view of this "arrow" can be considered whats used to describe a human being anyway. I could be the arrow, you could be the arrow, anyone could be the arrow. It would be that you either kill yourself, someone else would kill themselves, anyone else would kill themselves. You are the "tool", your the "arrow" then. What influence you to be the "bow"? The driving external force of the outside world you are affected by, that in a way "death" cannot reach you, when your responsible for that first.

So what does that mean?

Your the "bow", your the "arrow", and basically your a "tool".

"Thus an old person is hunted by two constantly".

O.K., if it was actually a world we lived in where everywhere ( time to look at the wavelengths here JMPD1), like it was the movie "Final Destination"- and I mean IF it was-
Well, whos an "old" person?

What does it mean when Dattswami says "This is an arrow that is hunting everybody in this world"? Oh, you mean everybody AND old people? You mean old as in, sperm and egg fermentation when a human being decides something at a cellular molecular level is actually ALIVE?

Is that it????

So it's two arrows???

So if it was a fantasy world we lived in and it was Final Destination all over the place, we have to worry basically ...........about 1 arrow. My point being??

It's not a fantasy world. Dattswami, you contradicted yourself in your statements, they are on an eternal trip that will probably last you 40,50,60, mabye 70 years until they finally "die" off themselves.

Get a grip.

It's not mine!!!It's Dattaswamis'> I was trying to analyze it and put it together and to prove it has flaws.
It's on the second page, below all the locked ones...

"Why do people go to spirituality in the old age only?"
Be more specific...Why do you have to be old, how old, and what's old anyway?

And...what the **** is "the death"???

Sorry PFlack. I wonder why dattaswami isn't answering- I mean, he's on here pretty much every day. Maybe the guy has something to hide...

I have a novel idea. Why don't you pm dattaswami and invite him here (unless you have already done so)?
I've participated in many of his threads. I must say they are loaded with a lot of info and don't always leave room for others to post their thoughts. But some are inspirational nevertheless.

Dattaswami?, What are you?

THis was the last thread that I looked at before going to bed last night. During my sleep, I had a vision of what Dattaswami is.

According to this vision, the definition of a dattaswami is "an illegal Chinese martial arts manouvre".

Wow, so don't know what is going on here.

As Dattaswami seems to have become a person of incredibly few words(unbelievable I know), and has not responded here, I think that a PM may be the best idea at this point. It doesn't seem fair to have a bunch of speculation going on if this person is not here to add to it.
