G'day

Now when i was a little boy i came across a book of UFO's monsters and such, and there was this picture of these beings Called the Little People. Just One picture black and white and a title no information or nothing, and i guess thats what freaks the hell out of me its just a scary picture. It's been more than a decade since i've seen that picture and i wonder now if it was Fact (In the reality of seeing the picture) or (fiction it was made from all my own nightmares) The fact is, i wish to track down the picture and find out if it is still a haunting image or just a silly little boys imagination run wild.

A discription of these little People, entails Hooded wood creaturs small pale faces with large owl like eyes(no relation to the owlman or mothman) dressed like a women from the late 1900's with a traveling cloak and thin frail arms, like twigs.....the photo infact has one of these creatures standing next to a tree they must only be at least 4 - 5ft tall, and i have no doubt in my mind that it is an American Urban legend.

Though legend or not the mere memory sends chills through my body

Any help trackin this photo would be greatly appreciated

Was it an actual photograph, or a drawing, cartoon or an other type of depiction?

That does infact sound a little like a mythological being we have here in The North. Let's see if you Americans (and all others) can recognize this fairis/sprites: They are quite small, I'd say about 3 feet high and according to the stories they used to live on farms and helping out in secret. And during christams you had to put out a plate with porridge/oatmeal. If you didn't the tomte (as they're called in Sweden) would get mean. There are stories about how they could kill the cattle - that's how mad they could get! wink2.gif Anywho, the are about 3 feet, kinda chubby, and got beard...

Now, WHO do they resamble? wink2.gif

[attachmentid=20700]

Anyway, there's been a few sighting that i Know of...

Never seen a 'little person',but have talked to one lady who has.I have, however, found 2 examples of pygmy flints in my life.FAR too tiny to be used by regular sized Indians.I had to use a magnifying glass to appreciate the intricate detail of the flint work.Amazing craftsmanship!
This mystifies me still to this day.
yael
could it be jermaine dupri?
hes damn scary! disgust.gif

Terry Pratches writes about the little people....good books to..... there are many storys about them..... but im sure if they were real we would have noticed by now. Would we not?

Those guys in the picture look like gnomes. The kind that are petrified in every suburban garden.

The description sounds like it could be brownies, gnomes or grigs.

Not sure on the book though. no.gif

When I was a kid I used to see little people in my back garden. They looked just like the aliens in the film Communion,(not the grey types). It slightly freaks me out as im not lying and dont think its a madeup thought in my head! I was about 6 or 7 and have always had a firm grasp of reality,,,,,just.
They had almost white skin with peculiar slitty eyes.About 3 feet tall and dressed in dark brown robes with hoods.Massive heads, little legs, but very fast runners.
I remember them darting from behind tree to tree, teasing me and sort of barking at each other. They seemed quite friendly but were very ugly and I felt a bit picked on,all i wanted to do was play in my garden without these little dudes hanging around.
I felt they could understand what I was thinking and would throw things at me too.
This all happened before I had any interest in UFOs and stuff, maybe it was just a kid thinking up strange things, but im not the type to have imaginary friends or anything, who knows?
Im going now as I sound a bit mad. sad.gif
snuffypuffer
Darby O'Gill knows about these things...

sorry, couldn't resist. laugh.gif anyhow, I haven't heard of these guys, either. What happened to the book? Maybe if you could find it and have another look-through, it'd clarify some things.

theres an indian legend that talks about the little people they were supposed to be forest spirits or something. But they were much much smaller then what you are stating here. i remember my grandma telling me stories about them. in some stories they are helpful and in some they are trouble makers. but she always told us to leave them milk on the back porch and they would leave us alone. it is a chucta (sp) legend. it's a neat legend.

Little people.
Well, we have scientific proof of their existence, perhaps not the ones described here, but you may want to look at

If they existied in one part of the world, why not another. After what was done to the Tasmanian Aborigine, why it is not inconceivable that man has commited more forms of atrocius genocide out of fear, stupidity and/or ignorance. How many races will never be discovered ?
Not just white man, we are all as bad as each other, we just like to blame each other for other peoples mistakes. We could make racism go away if we really did stand together.
Sorry, getting of my soapbox now.......

Having lived a fair portion of my life in the Australian Outback, and having worked in Honiara (Solomon Islands, didn't see a ropen but sad.gif ) and having seen the magnitude of the small corner of the world I have lived in, anyone who says we have found everything has no concept of the vastness of this planet. We have seen only a little bit of it. What arrogance to say we have seen/found all animals of significant size!
My biggest hope is Mockle Mbembe, really hope that one is out therre !! The reports sure sound quite plausible.

Little people. Why not, we belive a plesiosaur may be swimming around a Scottish Lake ! Both have existed. We know that for sure. Do they still........ I for one hope so.

Are you talking about the Mannegishi? A nature-spirit from Crow & Cree Native-Canadian mythology described as little human-like entities who enjoy playing pranks on humans. As an aside, some people draw comparisions between Mannegishi and the 'Dover Demon'

There's probably a lot of simular legends. If you google Mannegishi + "Dover Demon" you'll find pages connecting the two. Mainly what they say is the description of the Dover Demon is simular to that of the mannegishi's description in the legends.

Funny. I totally didn't even see those little guys until you circled them even though it's obviously what the woman in the photo is looking at.

So now we have to worry about garden gnomes too? Damn... either this world is very weird, or it's even weirder because everyone's hallucinating.

Which one would you prefer? Real or Hallucinated?

depends on the image,,,,,,hot girl comeing onto me, i prefer reality,,,,,skinny grey working in my backyard gardin, i prefer it be a hallucination, or i'll jump off a cliff and die from those haunting images
