I'd like to make a purchase on a gulf club. I'm not sure what type is preferred and I do not know much about golf. I did see some great sites with beautiful golf clubs, but I know nothing about the wedges, iron, wood, etc.. I'm looking for something in the range of $100-$250. He is an attorney and I'd like to get him something nice... any ideas??

Thx

Hi Foxy

Funny I have just bought someone a golf club! original.gif

A Mizuno club is always a good bet. Maybe go for something like a Rescue dual graphite club, they are supposedly the latest rage on the courses and have these weights you can mess around with. Boys and their toys! thumbsup.gif

Nowadays a half set of golf clubs is a popular choice for most beginners, that comprising of are 3, 5, 7, 9, Sand Wedge, 3 Wood and a Putter. Alternatively, 4, 6, 8, Pitching Wedge 3 Wood and a Putter.

My auntie actually started to cry when she got a Big Bertha (wood) for her birthday, so I assume they are good tongue.gif

It all depends on how serious (experienced) a golfer he is. Buying an expensive, popular club for someone who plays only occasionally wouldn't be prudent, they wouldn't possess the skills needed to reap the benefits of the particular club. If, on the other hand he is a golf fanatic, then a good choice would be to look at a specific club, ie; driver, wedge, putter, etc. Drivers are the most popular, Callaway (Big Bertha), Ping & Mizuno and titanium clubs are currently very sought after. Different types of rescue clubs (wedges) are also desireable. It always helps if you can ask his golf buddies what he might need to make the choice easier, but you needn't be too concerned, a good golfer always appreciates an opportunity to improve his game with a new club. thumbsup.gif
