Walken
One thing must be said about this game, above all else. This game does not take itself seriously, and thats what makes it so fantastic!

You follow Neo as he lives an open-ended path, allbeit one with some incredibly tedious choices. For example - Take the red pill or the blue pill. Take the blue pill, and you have to start all over again tongue.gif

So, how about that ha-larity? Well, in the corridor of doors scene, after some dangerous, -and to be honest, awesome - fights, The Keymaker tells you that the next door could be a little more dangerous. When Neo inquires "What could possibly be more dangerous?" The door opens, we see a look of shock on the trio's faces, and Morpheous says to a dramatic music sting 'There is your awnser, Neo.' Only to zoom out and reveal a room full of cunningly disguised Jack Thompson's and Hilary Clinton's, tackling the issue of video games head on. Shortly afterwards Jack exclaims "What the hell are you boys doing?!" as Smiths invade the room and turn the publicity-hungry crowd into a violent riot of Agent Smith's.

And the ending?

Spoilers ahead, ye be warned.

After the film's final fight, in which Neo and Smith take on the ultimate battle in a pouring manhatten street, which I will say is the most open-ended part of the game...depending on your actions you can take the battle to the sky, through buildings, abandoned warehouses, ecetera, you full back to your ordinary positon in the crater. You WILL get goosebumps when Smith screams "This is my world, Mr. Anderson! My world!!!", shortly before Neo smacks him down.

At this point, we fade to a white screen, where digital representations of the Wachowski brothers treat us to a satire-filled fun-pack, in which they explain that although the film-ending worked, it is just lame for a video game. They then say "We thought it might be cool if all the Smith's joined togethor into one huge smith robot." And THAT is EXACTLY what happens.

A prettey neat CGI shows the Smith's using eachother and debris to build an 800 Foot robot, towering above the skyscrapers, which promptly does battle with an Ariel bound Neo. This scene is also hugely open-ending. You can take the battle to the ground, to the sky...even to the belly of the beast! Most players, however, will find it easiest to just keep where they are.

Finally, the robot lays dead, and we skip to Zion - Where that un-named kid is running around telling evreyone the war is over. We hear a soft peice of music in the background play, too quiet to identify. Finally, the kid runs to the balcony and screams to the crowd that "Neo did it! The war is over!". The music wells up as the crowd shed their disbeleif, and we finally realise. 'They wouldn't...' you can't help think, as Queen's "We are the Champions!" see's the end of the game through.

A great game, with ha-larity, epic battles and incredible gameplay throughout. A good buy. thumbsup.gif

I'm going to the video-store later today, and I may rent it. It's my number 2 choice of games to rent right now. This game just looks so awesome.
Neo2005
Well i have played is game already and i have to say it's the best matrix game ever.
Probably one of the best 3rd person fighting game ever to.The hand to hand comabt system is incredible while the gunning system really lacks. The fights in the first movie are very hard when fighting agents and then once you become the one in the second and 3rd movies the fights are simple and make the game prgress very quickly.Albeit a good ending it's insanely ridiculous because you don;t really fight you just smash through the huge cement smith.(Just as a correction there Walken the city is not manhatten it's "mega city")
So although the game movies to fast and is much to easy to beat i still love this game because of the bonus levels features and because of the fact that you can go to your favourite point in the movies and fight em out(Subway fight.rooftop dodging bullets, seraph tea house which acually goes into mega iron monkey style, courtyard smith fight and even the last fight with oracle smith while flying in the air.)
If your not a matrix fan do not buy this game just rent it and play it through it doesn;t take that long.
Shakezulah
How long would you say the game is, exactly? Also, how many fights besides the movie ones do you get to do?
Neo2005
If you atune well to the controlls the game can be completed in under 10 hours which is not a long time.
There are many other non movie fight although they lack becasue it;s the same base story.
Neo is trying to free someone from the matrix who has found something inside which is not pheasable in reality.Agents come and so does swat. You fight and the level is over.that stuff is more filler than anything else.

The best fight has to be the smith fight in the courtyard with about 200 smiths. It's fun because you get the steel pole and you get to bash them around.you really only get to fight about 7 at a time and then rest run around you in a constant circle but it is very fun. When training in the first movie you get to use swords which you use in the artium fight in the second film and the sword fighting system is bar none tope 3 in best ever.So clean and refined you can attack all 360 degrees around you anytime during a fight and there are soem sweet combos which look incredible in bullet time.downisde to the swords is that sfter training their only used once and that is in the second movie which ends rather quickly.

The best feature of this game has to be the incredible physical damage which put you into a huge fun fasctor on every level. You can thrown kick punch and shoot enemies into walls pillars windows wooden doors and anything else in the environment and cause massive structural damage which really ups the fight factor. They could have done alot more with the soundtrack because it's just the matrix regualr on a continuous loop.

If your looking for a shooting game stay away from this title because it sucks foir shooting.
it's pure crap and only there for filler the disarms are cool but once you unholster the weapon there is little finess and it is really laggy. No controll at all and the targeting system is garbage.

Other than the shooting this game is defiantly worht playing.
And if you rent and blockbuster you can have tons of play time.

I'll agree that the gunning system lacks for sure. When I'm standing ten feet from a swat team, it's easier just to focus-run up the walls, land behind them and beat them to death rather than try shooting.
Spoonfed Tribe
The shooting is satisfactory, but I'd rather focus and pummel them from the front with kicks, punches, and wall-jumps. The fighting is fun.. I like the mission where you have to fight Smith whilst your team mates are trying to find a way to get you! I messed up cause the volume was down (gotta have music playin!) and I didn't know you're supposed to just fight until they get you out. I kept trying to kill him and go upto the level above me... Before you fight the giant Smith bot thing I like when the Pink & Blue pixel Wichouski brothers give you a pep talk and send you off for the final fight!
Neo2005
I thought that was kinda stupid but it was entertaining none the less.
Everything in this game should please any matrix fan(like myself)the important thing to remember is that this game is a farce of itself the Wachowski part shows that.
Don;t go into this game looking for anything else but pure action entertainment and some great retold story. The part in the middle with other people not mentioned in the movies are purley filler and are not supposed to be taken literally or seriously because their not true matrix material.

I finished the game a couple of days ago, and like Neo said, it's the best Matrix game ever.
The fights were awesome, really really awesome. You had to see my face of joy when in the Burley Brawl I could grab the pole and do the same killer moves Neo did in the movie grin2.gif.Yup, the graphics weren't great, but being able to destroy the whole place with bullets and fists was amazing! Now, the shooting got some time getting used to, but in the end it worked so I don't have much complaints about that.
Now, what did I not like? The fact that it just skipped the third movie almost entirely. I was with the Keymaker and suddenly I'm in the final fight against Smith. It was good, but I certainly would have liked to play more of Revolutions and certainly could have used more of the expanded narrative that for me was a plus (for example, you could have been ambushed by the Merovigian's goons after you are rescued by Trinity). Well, you can't have it all can you?

All in all, a great game. Certainly recommended to all who likes the Matrix and those who want a good, as gamespot described it, brawler.

8.3/10 thumbsup.gif
Neo2005
I'm pretty sur ehte guns are just put in there for filler.
Because the disamrs are more powerfull than using the guns.
