What if??? If you had that much money, not that I am intending to ask those who do have it, but those who don't. If you didn't have that much, what would you do with it?
For example, if I did, should I live off of the interest - which is $75,000 a year maybe?

invest in shares....party... 
I would open a Subway and a drycleaners. That way I could get out of real estate. That is my goal within 5 years. Getting a million would just make it happen quicker.
If I had a million dollars, I would just put in the bank and live off the interest that the money creates. That way I when the interest doubles the money I would buy a car & a house and help my parents with their bills and buy a house for them and then take a vacation, buy my little Sugar something neat. Then come house and watch the interest grow again, just to see how much I would then have later on in life for the heck of it.

Personally, I would probably try and invest in something that could make me even more money..then I would retire at a VERY early age and live off that for the rest of my life then establishing a community of Atheisim and Agnosticisim across the country. Also, I would donate 500k to Shadowpool Studios.
I would donate loads to the animal sanctuary where I work. And I would give a lot to Lyn, the owner, because she is wonderful.

After paying taxes, you'd probably have about $650,000 left. I'd pay off debt, buy a modest house (~$350,000 around here), buy a car for my fiance & a mini van (yuck but practical) for me & general needed stuff. That brings it down to about $200,000. I guess I'd invest that and just let it build.

I'd put some $ aside for my daughter's college & my college, sell my home & buy a new one (nothing fancy), invest with my sister & her company, help out some family, leave the rest in the bank. Oh yes, and one more thing, pay for a car that I ACTUALLY get the chance to drive in!! (again nothing fancy)..After a short break...back to reality: Continue working & hopefully go back to school.
Pay off student loans. Then I'd buy a 1957 Les Paul Guitar. Then I'd probably be broke again---but hey, I'll have a bad@$$ guitar!

lol well i would firstly hire the best lawyer and sue bill gates because he make computers that go in sleep mode randomly and its annoying as and then when i finish him in court i will get much more then a million!! more like a billion then i will be richer then u all and have a income 1000 times your investment of a mere 1 million!! puhh, 1 million u gota be joking lol!!

I think Bill Gates spends way more than $1,000,000 on lawyers.
But I gotta give you credit for ambition.

I would buy one of those islands shaped like a country, I'd buy my house there, I would buy a lot of anime, consoles and videogames and I would deposit the rest and think what to do next.

EDITED: come to think of it, that money might not be enough, so I would invest first so that I could have enough money to stabilize myself there.

The truth is that a million isn't a lot of money these days. I'd probably go to Honduras (the cheapest cost of living nation in the hemisphere) and relax and write the rest of my life. Wait a minute! That's what I'm doing now in Mexico! Who needs a million?
