user posted imageA strange animal left a tril of blood and death at the Los Lagos commune of the Quinchilca sector. Fear gripped a humble peasant woman after she learned of the savage death of some fifty birds anda pig at the claws of a mysterious beast which few hesitated to identify as the Chupacabras. The hideous scene of bloodletting was discovered early in the morning by Edith Mora, owner of the Los Colihues smallhold, located some 4 km from Los Lagos, where she has lived for over 25 years. The strong winds and rain felt early Monday morning kept locals from discovering the sinister fact, which took the lives of 50 hens and nine geese through strange perforations on their necks, as well as the death of a large pig, who presented extensive and deep injuries on both sides and on its head. The violence of the attack was made manifest by the numerous scratches on the stable doors, one of which was completely destroyed, as well as the numerous prints resembling those of a puma and which were evident all over the henhouse.

Oddly enought, the three watchdogs on the premises never noticed the strange animal's presence and it is assumed that they did not hesitate to hide in order to avoid the same fate as the other victims. Remains of animal blood, flesh and feathers were evident everywhere, mute testimony of the violent assault, which probably took only a few minutes. " All of my birds were dead and scattered, and the henhouse door was shredded to ribbons. I was sad to see my little animals dead," said the sorrowful woman, who is even contemplating the sale of the property and moving far away. "Some say it was a lion, although others do not dismiss the fact that it could have been the chupacabras. Whatever it is, my birds are dead and there's nothing to be done."

hmm, being completely unfamiliar with Chilean predators i couldn't begin to guess what might be responsible for this attack. whatever it was, it was hungry.

I wonder if they have big cats there... I mean, Chile is very high in the mountains, perhaps this is a species that has not been identified yet.

It's weird how the dogs did not raise the alarm, especially as there would of been alot of noise, stable doors don't break quietly. To me that that sort of backs up the theory that an unusual or "strange" animal did this, it could of been alien to the dogs and scared them into hiding.

Also very freaky photo that goes with the story looks like a scary Baboon

I think the dogs did it themselves....

A guard dog doesn´t give up if it is not beaten...it gives whatever the animal is, a go. (if it was guard dogs) Then it backs off. And there were 3 of them.....
Dogs doesn´t care if they ever seen something, if it is strange to them.
Sometimes dogs go to death protecting the terretory that is "theirs" against anything.

And a unsure dog bark at danger. (tries to drive it away and alarm the leader/owner)
Strange indeed.

If you're interested in any background information, please take a peek. Tis another one of those oddities, difficult to explain. wacko.gif

Well.. if it is a creature that really stinks of blood, death and has a strong odour of for example urine and looks like the devil . then maybe the dogs did hide anyway.

This thing is really mysterious.

is that photo even real?

I don't think it's an actual photo - just something meant to portray a Chupa. I don't know why I am so facinated with stories of this thing - it' not like all that great. Most stories are the same thing time after time. On this one thought I gotta agree with Kaj - dogs are gonna bark no matter what - at least a little bit! By the way (I still laugh at this) in case some of you don't know - Chupacabra translates to goat sucker! Don't go callin your spanish teacher that!

I don't think it was dogs.Maybe dogs scratched and broke door trying to get to what was eatin the animals.Maybe a bat or bats...Or maybe a mountain lion of some sort. But dogs are very messy when killing in packs they would have left prints or been covered themselves. My opinions---VAMPIRES!!!! ohmy.gif
