I have been a lurker for a year and just joined forum today. I thought it would be a good time to add to this place for once. So here is the first sighting of a UFO i had in my life (i have seen a few since, including phoenix lights).
It was in 1979 when i was about 7 years old. I lived in southern california at the time. not a rural area, pretty close to Disneyland. Considering my age i was more aware and intelligent (not bragging) than most kids bumbling through life. I was very curious and loved science and aircraft. I always looked up, and at that age i understood how aircraft moved and didnt move. My brother(2 years older) and a friend of his were in front of our apartment building, a one floor row house style. A 30 year old neighbor was 40 feet away at the back of the building washing his car. We played merrily with our cap guns and walkie talkies, After 3 hours we were eating cookies while standing about 10 feet apart talking on the walkies when a garbled clicking and wave noise, that i now realise sounded like an internet connection took over the speakers. even when we clicked talk button it continued. It was about 5 minutes into this noise that we heard the neighbor in back scream "holy SH##". We ran back and saw him staring up. There it was , my first UFO. It sat motionless about 500 feet up. It was silent. The UFO looked like 2 pie plates, one on bottom right side up and top was upside down. Sandwiched between them was a row of square windows or lights, between each window was a thin black verticle. the lights blinked on and of in a way that looked like 1 light was off and circling around the craft. It stayed in one spot for a good 5-10 minutes.The whole time the walkies made the weird noise. The craft was about a 45 degree angle from our position and it was broad daylight, maybe 3 or 4 pm. We talked into walkie and waved at it and chirp changed. Then it was gone. The chirping and the walkie talkie noise. No movement. The UFO just ceased to exist in faster than the eye could blink. The neighbor looked at us asked us to tell us what we saw because he couldnt believe it. We told our parents and they didnt believe, until the neighbor came to them and verified it.
That moment was seared into my mind. I have never seen anything like it before or since. That moment is something i have thought about my whole life. I have been intrested since then. I know UFO are real because of this. I have seen a few other types in my life but will post those later.
