I've looked everywhere, Amazon, B&N, eBay, libraries, bookstores....it appears to be very old and out of print...so.....now I'm turing to you lovely people. It's called 'Hebrew Cabalist Writings'. If anyone has it/wants to sell it, knows where I can get it (or at least something very very similar) let me know.

I haven't heard of that one.

The kabalist movement is a Jewish tradition from way back. Most people agree that it is a false teaching but, it's supporters contend that it originated in ancient Isreal. The oldest known text on the teachings is from the fifteenth century, (I think), called the "Great Zohar", (In Hebrew "Zohar Gadol").

The adherants to the doctrine required that a person be a male, a father, and of a certain advanced age before beginning the study of the texts. Supposedly, the Kabala goes into great detail about the different attributes of G-d. Most of the Rabbis around at the time that it came to prominence felt that it was a heretical teaching that skirted the edge of worshipping multiple gods. Even to this day, the true Kabala is supposed to be hidden because many of the teachings could lead to polytheist thinking.

Also, what ever it is that all these famous people, (ie: Madonna), are following is not Kabala but, something else. Probably some new twist on one of the New Age faiths. Hence, whatever books found at the big chain bookstores simply could not be accurate or complete, texts.

I wouldn't suggest that a person get too involved in it unless you could find a ligitamate Rabbi, (who could reasonably have the real text), to instruct you in it. Not because it's dangerous but, because I really don't think that anyone else would have access to the real deal.
